Ms. Dennis said yes, but she did not have a problem with the traffic restrictions at Kolln
and Mohr.

It was moved by Ms. Dennis, and seconded by Ms. Michelotti, to adopt Resolution
No. 97-141, adopting a Negative Declaration for the project.
The r011 call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico and Mayor Tarver.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

It was moved by Ms. Dennis, and seconded by Ms. Michelotti, f'mding the project
consistent with the General Plan's goals and policies.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, and Michelotti
NOES: Councilmember Pico and Mayor Tarvet
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Ms. Dennis said she would like to set aside Condition 49, until the traffic calming could
be looked at further.

Mr. Swift asked her to describe how she would like it looked at. There is a traffic
calming committee in existence that could look at it.

Ms. Dennis said she would like to add some people to this committee. If the
development is approved, people could look differently at how the traffic could be dispersed out
of the development. She would like the committee to look at lowering the speed to 15 mph in
certain sections and to preserve the access to Mohr School.

Mr. Swift said the suggestions concern off site issues, so Condition 49 could be modified
in such a way as to postpone the decision on the turning and other traffic restrictions until the
tentative map approval, the final map approval, before the first house is built or some other
time. He asked for Council to give some indication as to time frame when this should come
back.

Ms. Dennis felt during the tentative map process would be the best time to impose the
ad hoc committee' s recommendation or other recommendations that are developed by the traffic
calming committee specifically to address the impacts made by this project.

Ms. Michelotti asked if the citizens will be involved in the process and where in the
process is Council involved? She did not want the community to get the wrong idea. If the
committee did not come up with anything better, the project would still be approved.

Pleasanton City Council 12/02/97
Minutes 20
