Mayor Tarver clarified the motion. The motion is to take the zoning regulations to the <br />Planning Commission, have a process and a hearing on that and then have the second reading <br />of the ordinance with the Planning Commission recommendations in one heating at a later dam. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush reiterated what Mayor Tarver said. The ordinance is introduced today. The <br />zoning regulations will be submitted to the Planning Commission for report and <br />recommendation, and the zoning regulations would then come to the Council to be considered. <br />The Council would introduce an ordinance on the zoning and then have the second reading of <br />today's ordinance, and the zoning regulations perhaps two months from now. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked if the decision was made in the Lafayette matter could Council be <br />informed? <br /> <br /> Ms. Roush said he would keep Council up to date on the Lafayette issue. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver said there are differences of opinions on this issue. He reiterated for the <br />public what he had heard today. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Dennis, and seconded by Ms. Ayala, to introduce Ordinance <br />1719, providing for the appropriate location of f'wearm sales activity and prohibiting the <br />sale of "Saturday Night Specials", by amending Title 6, Title 18 and Title 20 of the <br />Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers- Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Tarver. <br />NOES: Councilmember Pico <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Pico, and seconded by Mayor Tarver, that any ordinance that <br />is established by the City of Pleasanton with respect to the control of gun dealers and <br />"Saturday Night Specials" be placed on the ballot before becoming effective. <br />The roll Call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Michelotti, Pico and Mayor Tarver. <br />NOES: Councilmember Ayala and Dennis <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti said she felt there was a need for ratification and therefore would support <br />the ordinance going to the ballot.
