Mayor Tarver asked if the Council were to agree to the annexation requirements outlined, <br />did Mr. Hempy believe the area would annex? <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala asked if he would help annex these properties. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hempy said he has been out talking to the neighbors. He wants to work with <br />Council and staff on this. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver asked if a partial annexation had been discussed? <br /> <br /> Mr. Hempy said no it had not. He said in all fairness to the neighborhood it should be <br />all or nothing. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver asked if he would be willing to pay his pro rata share of all improvements. <br /> Mr. Hempy asked if he would be reimbursed for the sewer work he already had done? <br /> Mayor Tarver said it would probably be considered part of his pro rata share. <br /> <br /> Mr. Faber reiterated the infrastructure issues once again: the water, the sewer and the <br />roads. He stated the benefits to the City by this annexation. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver said he would like to see the annexation; he was tired of arguing about <br />City services for properties when the owners are not willing to give up living in the County. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked if Mr. Hempy was asking for reimbursement of the $32,000 or did <br />he understand this would be part of his pro rata share? She said some parcels already had <br />sewers because of public health reasons. <br /> <br /> Russell Hempy, 3568 Vine Street, said he enjoyed living in the Remen Tract <br />neighborhood and would like to see it stay a rural area, with no traffic, friendly people, animals, <br />and lots of room to play. <br /> <br /> Rhonda Hempy, 3568 Vine Street, said she agreed with what her son and husband had <br />already said and would like to keep the neighborhood rural. <br /> <br /> Mike Wiltz, 348 Linden Way, said he recently moved into the neighborhood and wants <br />to keep the area rural. He has a preannexation agreement with the City but prefers not to be <br />annexed into the City. He is afraid Vine Street would be opened up. He urged Council to <br />approve the sewer hookups for the two parcels. <br /> <br /> Howard Michener, 3469 Bernal Avenue, said he is hesitant about being annexed to the <br />City.
