The Mayor asked if there were any speakers Mathew Balek, 2317 Foothill Road, #3, said he agreed with the policy, but that it needed more details. He said he would like to know how the "safe and creative" activities would be defined. Ms. Ayala said it would be done in the implementation phase. Eddie Richardson, 3 150 Half Dome Drive, said he supported the policy. Jay Hickman, 5469 Cameo Court, invited the Mayor and Councilmembers to the third annual art show that would be held by the Parks and Community Services Department on Monday, April 28, 1997 at the Senior Center. Mark McLean, 3284 Melanie Circle, and Dave Coberly, 1033 Riesling Drive, wanted to thank the City Council for its support in increasing the cultural activities. They invited Council to come to the next Coffee House on May 30, 1997 at 8:00 p.m. at the Senior Center. Matt Whitbeck, 5090 Independence Drive, representing the Youth Commission, wanted to ask Council to continue its support of the youth programs. Ms. Dennis asked what the process would be to develop the implementation plan for the youth policy statement. Mr. Whitbeck said it had not been discussed yet. The proposed policy would explain what the Youth Commission was all about. Liz Sainthill, 1056 Serpentine Lane, representing the YMCA, wanted to thank the City Council for participating in the Government in Youth Day. There were no further speakers. Ms. Dennis commented that she was very impressed with the Vision Statement. She said it was a wonderful policy statement and the students would be able to go very far with it.
