Ms. Acosta commented the City was very appreciative of the efforts staff put forth to get <br />these programs. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmember Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: Councilmember Pico on Item 4e <br /> <br />5, MEETINO OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Michael Faber described activities surrounding the recent School District bond issue and <br />campaign activities. He then presented $1,000 from unspent campaign funds to the senior center <br />and the balance to PPIE for grants to students. Gene Pons also thanked Council for its support <br />of the bond issue. <br /> <br /> Michael Mankarious, 6938 Corte Madrid, thanked Council for its contribution to the <br />Mock Trial Team so it could travel to Sacramento for the State Mock Trials. <br /> <br /> Jim Duncan, 617 Angela Street, commented on the traffic calming program. He said <br />Council never supported any remedies for this area in the past. He reviewed prior actions and <br />studies regarding this area. He said many areas presented safety issues and needed to be <br />considered. He hoped that Council would follow through with this program. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />Item 6a <br />Review and apnroval of Youth Vision Statement and Policy for Youth. (SR97: 130) <br /> <br /> Andrea Taedol, representing the Youth Commission, presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico asked what type of funding was needed from the City to keep this program <br /> running. <br /> <br /> Ms. Tacdol said there was no need for money to adopt the program.
