Albert Wiemken, P. O. Box 969, said he designed Trenery Drive and was confused about
the on-street parking issue. He believed the development is a good amenity for the City.

Shirley Lauer, 2221 Martin Avenue, supports staffs recommendations and agreed with
Mr. Wiemken's remarks.

Glenn Hulett, 2201 Martin Avenue, said several issues came up after the Planning
Commission meeting and he wanted to discuss these issues. He mentioned that he wants Council
to take into consideration the fact that there are many different zoning configurations in this
neighborhood and the only possible zoning that would allow the right thing to happen would be
staff's recommendation.

Ms. Michelotti said she received a letter from someone not interested in being annexed.
How would this be handled?

Mr. Swift said this application is for prezoning only and would not affect annexing the
properties at this point.

Mayor Tarver mentioned he would like to follow the normal procedure in submitting
plans. That is, create the Specific Plan, figure out how the property will be developed so it all
works and not piecemeal things together. He said he likes to know what he is approving and
therefore would not support the application.

It was moved by Ms. Michelottl, and seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution
No. 97-20A, approving a Negative Declaration for the prezoning of approximately 34.5
acres located on both sides of Trenery Drive westerly of Martin Avenue, as filed under
Case RZ-97-02.
The roll Call vOt~ was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, and Michelotti.
NOES: Mayor Tarver
ABSENT: Councilmember Pico
ABSTAIN: None
It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, and seconded by Ms. Dennis, that Ordinance No.
1709 be introduced, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, prezoning
to the PUD (Planned Unit Development) - LDR (Low Density Residential) District of
approximately 34.5 acres of property located at 2201, 2207, 2215, 2221, and 2313 Martin
Avenue, and 3547, 3711, 3737, 3747 and 3757 Trenery Drive, and conditionally approving
sufficient on-site parking.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, and Michelotti.
NOES: Mayor Tarver
ABSENT: Councilmember Pico
ABSTAIN: None

Pleasanton City Council 5 3/18/97
Minutes
