Mayor Tarver asked if Mori Hatsushi, 2756 Vineyard Ave, wanted to comment on Item <br />4e. (Mr. Hatsushi had already left the meeting. <br /> <br /> Paul Sutter objected to the settlement concerning a motorcycle accident on Vineyard <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />Item 6a <br />West Las Positas Traffic Study - Community Advisory_ Committee study Of alternatives to <br />an Interchange (SR97:75) <br /> <br /> Mr. Lum presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked for clarification regarding the five month EIR process. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lure commented the plan being brought forth would alter the General Plan. The <br />main focus of the study would be eliminating the interchange and suggesting other alternatives. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver asked if there was a true consensus to eliminate the interchange. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lum commented that it appeared to be that way. <br /> <br /> Matt Sullivan, 4324 Muirwood Dr, thanked the City Council for allowing participation <br />by the community. He commented that the community supports the staff report except for the <br />wording under "Problem Definition" paragraph 2. He would like the words "at peak hours" <br />included in the report. Under "Plan Objectives" paragraph 4, he would like a mechanism <br />included to allow the Committee to provide feedback and concerns to the City Council regarding <br />effect the new development approvals might have on the study. He asked if the EIR process <br />could be expedited. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver commented that we have a circulation period for public review and <br />comment on EIR's and he would not like to shorten it. <br /> <br /> Alice Waterman, 1887 St. Norbert Drive, Danville, representing the Stoneridge Mall, <br />said she would like to be a part of this Committee. Traffic management in Pleasanton is <br />important to residences and businesses. Ms. Waterman commented that she hoped there would <br />be enough seats available for her participation. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver commented Council will make sure that all viewpoints are heard. He <br />commented that all meetings are open to the public allowing participation from those not <br />appointed to the Committee. <br /> <br /> 4 3/04/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
