Item 6d
RZ-97-01. Cit_v of Pleasanton
Request for a Planned Unit Development prezoning to the PUD (Planned Unit Development}
- LDR (Low Density Residential district of approximately 34.5 acres of property located at
2201. 2207. 2215. 2221. and 2313 Martin Avenue. and 3547. 3711. 3737. 3747. and 3757
Trenery Drive,

This item was continued to March 18, 1997.

Item 6e
Approval of Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA} for Assisted Living Facility
(SR97:49)

Scott Erickson presented the staff report.

Ms. Michelotti asked staff to clarify the steps in regards to the agreement.

Ms. Acosta commented the agreement was site specific but the details regarding finances
had not been worked out.

Mr. Bocian commented the agreement sets the property aside and establishes a
relationship between the City and the development team to work together to finalize all the
details.

Ms. Michelotti asked if Council had final approval.

Mr. Bocian said yes.

Ms. Ayala asked staff to address the size of the units.

Mr. Erickson commented the units would range from 500 square feet to 700 square feet.

Ms. Ayala said she wanted to know why the developer chose those figures.

Jim Bucldey, Bridge Housing Corporation, commented they chose those figures to give
the units a residential feeling versus a hospital setting.

Jack Dove, 3263 Vineyard Ave, #114, felt the community had not been able to comment
on this project. He commented that for eight months the ad-hoc committee looked at other
existing facilities for affordability. When the staff report came out, it showed facilities that were
unaffordable. He commented that 200 square feet was quite reasonable for assisted living
facilities. If the units were larger it would encourage residents to stay in their units rather than
getting out and socializing. He asked Council to delay the project for one month.

11 3/04/97
