Mr. Pico said he would be absent for the October 6 meeting.

Mayor Tarver asked to move the fees to the October 20 meeting.

Ms. Acosta concurred.

Mayor Tarver mentioned the list of projects on the priority list, not currently a priority,
did not list any dates. He thought many of the projects had been completed.

Mr. Bocian said the heading for the "projects not currently a priority" was inadvertently
left off. The projects listed are completed.

Mayor Tarver said he liked the time line on the highest priority projects and asked if a
report could be done quarterly or semi-annually as to the dates. He had three things that he
believed should be on the highest priority list: all the downtown components; the reverse
osmosis projects; and a cemetery. He also felt the East Pleasanton Study is not a highest
priority.

Ms. Ayala also thought the downtown components should be moved up on the list.

Mayor Tarver asked for public testimony.

Linda Adams, 159 Ray Street, agreed the Downtown Specific Plan updates should be
looked at soon and would like it to include the traffic, what type of use, how the downtown area
should be designed and then come up with a plan. She would be glad to work on the committee.
The current Specific Plan is five years old and needs to be updated.

There were no further speakers.

Ms. Dennis had no objection to moving the Downtown Specific Plan updates up on the
list.

Ms. Michelotti said the parking issue needs to be addressed. Council has already given
direction to staff to look at a parking district.

Ms. Ac0sta said the items can be moved up on the list but the point is when will staff
have time to work on them. Until the Vineyard Corridor and the Golf Course scope are done,
staff cannot work on another Specific Plan.

Mayor Tarver said it always takes longer to do something than anticipated. He suggested
forming a committee to look at and revise the Downtown Specific Plan.

Pleasanton City Council 20 09/01/98
Minutes
