Ms. Ayala asked if it was possible to get more land.

Mr. McCurtain said the school site is currently 11.2 acres for approximately 650
students. The school site was designed to fit around these parameters and it fits within the land
use areas. If the school site were moved it would affect the alignment of the roadway.

Ms. Haugen asked the total parcel size.

Dr. McCurtain said approximately 13.4 acres.

Ms. Ayala said if the state funding only funds the 11.2 acres, is it possible to use the
developer fees for the rest of the parcel.

Mr. Dunston asked Ms. Ayala not to confuse the planning of the site with state funding.
If the School District wants to buy more acreage it can. The 11.2 acres fit into the process of
putting a plan together.

Mr. Swift said San Francisco would like the school to be as small as it can be. If it gets
larger than ten acres it has an impact on the amount of residential or commercial developable
land. The School District would like the school site to meet all its program criteria. Both the
City and the School District have an interest that the site be able to accommodate. the traffic.
The 11.2 acres is the area the School District said would meet its goals. He had faith that the
three agencies would be able to work out a solution. If there are too many changes, it creates
a process problem in bringing this forward in a timely fashion.

It was moved by Mr. Hco, and seconded by Ms. McGovern, to change the
elementary school site from site 18 to site 16 and direct staff to work cooperatively to try
and resolve mutual issues about safety and transportation.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, and Pico.
NOES: None
ABSENT: Mayor Tarver
ABSTAIN: None

THe roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Boardmembers - Gunson, Kernan, McGovern, and President Haugen.
NOES: None
ABSENT: Boardmember Bassett
ABSTAIN: None

Joint Meeting 13 06/04/98
School Board/City Council
Minutes
