Mr. Krah said he was already on top of the noise impacts. The design of the units far
exceeds the noise requirement. The units that are exposed to Stoneridge Drive without a
soundwall will have special insulation. The issue of street widths has been an on-going issue.
The narrow street is at staffs urging and he agreed. The narrow street tends to encourage
people to drive slower and this project has 430 more parking spaces than the original plan. In
regards to the density, it is a blended density from the overall project and he is paying an
affordable housing fee on the units. He said the affordable housing fee is an in-lieu fee as
opposed to satisfying it on site.

Ms. Michelotti asked if he had discussed affordable housing in regards to this project.

Mr. Krah said no.

Mayor Tarver asked if Stoneridge Drive were to be aligned to use the alternative how
would the plan change?

Mr. Krah indicated on the map how the plan would change.

Mr. Swift said the two loop streets would get shorter.

Mayor Tarver said in the original approval there were two approved open spaces. Is one
of those gone?

Mr. Krah said it was merged into the other. The same amount of area is still designated
in the changed plan.

Ms. Michelotti asked if there was some berming?

Mr. Krah said there is some berming. But as the bridge gets built the elevation is higher
and places the noise burden on the developer.

Mayor Tarver asked if Stoneridge Drive were shortened, would there be another access
to a straightened out Stoneridge Drive.

Mr. Swift said there would not be another access planned. There would be an emergency
vehicle access road that would come off of Stoneridge Drive at some point and if Stoneridge
Drive was straightened out it could happen at any spot.

Mayor Tarver asked if there should be another access into this development if Stoneridge
Drive went straight.

Mr. Swift felt it was not necessary because there are already too many streets that access
Stoneridge Drive that have street lights.

Pleasanton City Council 25 05/19/98
Minutes
