(SR98:43)

Randall Lum presented the staff report.

Ms. Ayala asked staff to explain the intersection modifications at Jensen Street?

Mr. Lum said where the stop bar is currently located at Jensen Street, the line of sight
is blocked by the trees. He said a proposal was to move the stop bar back a few feet back and
curve the medium angle, but this was rejected by the neighborhood. The residents felt the only
appropriate solution was to remove the trees.

Ms. Ayaia asked if the modification would work at all?

Mr. Lum said it would not work as well as removing two of the trees. Staff
recommended removing the trees because the neighborhood supported it.

Ms. Michelotti asked about the removal of the other two existing trees?

Mr. Lum said one tree would need to be removed for the crosswalk itself and the other
tree would need to be removed for the site alignment for the signal. Two trees were being
removed for the bus bay.

Ms. Michelotti had a concern with removing two trees.
