1. Continue to implement the action plan which included having <br /> locks on the gates as outlined in the October 5, letter to <br /> PGSA; <br /> <br />2. Re-evaluate the action plan at the conclusion of the 1987 <br /> season and develop any plans required for 1988; and <br /> <br /> 3. Review the field assignments with the goal of providing PGSA <br /> with an attractive combination of fields in the future. <br /> <br />City Council Action of October 20, 1987 <br /> <br />The City Council considered these issues on October 20, 1987. <br />After considerable public input, it was moved by Councilmember <br />Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that the City <br />continue to implement the action plan with the Pleasanton Girls <br />Soccer Association use of Harvest Park Middle School's Sports <br />Fields which includes having locks on the gates as outlined in <br />the October 5th letter to PGSA; re-evaluate the action plan at <br />the conclusion of the 1987 season and develop any plans required <br />for 1988; and review the field assignments with the goal of <br />providing PGSA with an attractive combination of fields in the <br />future. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Brandes <br /> <br />EVALUATION MEETING <br /> <br />An evaluation meeting was held on November 30, 1987. Brian <br />Leonard and Chuck Hugel attended representing Pleasanton Girls <br />Soccer Association. Dona Robb and George Gunter attended <br />representing the neighborhood. Commissioner Steve Krahnke and <br />Bernie Cooper attended as did staff members Dan Diez and Dolores <br />Bengtson. <br /> <br />Pleasanton Girls Soccer Association (PGSA) stated their greatest <br />concern was having adequate fields to meet program needs. While <br />they would prefer to have all three fields available for their <br />use at Harvest Park, they would support limiting their use to two <br />fields if an alternate good field was provided. PGSA <br />representatives stated it was their opinion that if the gates <br />between Greenwood Road and Harvest Park campus were unlocked, <br />PGSA members would indeed start using Greenwood Road for parking. <br /> <br />They noted that it wasn't that PGSA members were uncooperative, <br />it's just very difficult to get the degree of compliance desired <br />with such a large group. PGSA expressed the need for the City to <br /> <br /> - 4 - <br /> <br /> <br />
