B. The written application submitted to the Educational Standards Committee must include the following: 1.A description of the educational level to be pursued; 2. Employee's pursuing a specific number of college credits as set forth in this plan in lieu of a degree must submit a list of courses to be taken. Of the college credits submitted, elective (non-job related), courses shall not exceed the proportionate number of elective courses permitted under approved college degree programs. C. Prior to enrollment in a junior college, college, or university, the employee must have received written approval from the Education Standards Committee as to his/her eligibility to enroll in the Educational Incentive Plan and the job relatedness of the educational level to be pursued. NOTE: No employee shall receive educational incentive pay for any educational level attained unless he/she has received advanced written approval from the Educational Standards Committee as set forth in this section. D. The junior college, college, or university from which an educational level is to be received must be accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. 19.5 Educational Levels/Pay The Educational levels attained under the Incentive Pay Plan must be completed with a total grade point average of "C" or better. The specific levels of educational achievement and their respective educational pay percentages to which the educational incentive pay plan applies are as follows: Level Pay Percentages A.A. or A.S. Degree 2-1/2% Sixty (60) accredited semester units 2-1/2% or their quarter hour equivalents E.I.T. Certificate - The E.I.T. 2-1/2% Certificate must be accompanied by 60 approved semester units or their quarter hour equivalent to be eligible for incentive pay - 31 -
