16.4 Safety Shoe Allowance The Safety Boot allowance policy shall be amended to provide an annual allowance of Seventy-Five Dollars ($75.00) per pair of boots effective March 1, 1988; and $80.00 effective March 1, 1989. Section 17. Credit Union The City shall implement a voluntary payroll deduction option for those employees who wish to join the City and County Employees Credit Union for the purpose of transacting business with such City and County Employees Credit Union. Section 18. Deferred Compensation Plan The City shall implement a deferred compensation plan provided, however, ten percent (10%) of the PCEA membership agree to participate in said plan. If at any time participation in said plan falls below ten percent (10%) of the PCEA membership, the City may at its discretion, discontinue said plan at the conclusion of the calendar year. Section 19. Education Incentive Pay proqram 19.1 Purpose The purpose of this plan is to reward those eligible employees who have obtained a specific level of educational achievement in an area related to their job and, in so doing, have become better qualified to discharge the duties of their respective positions. 19.2 Eliqible Applicants Persons eligible to enroll in the Educational Incentive Plan have met all of the following requirements: A. Are permanent (non-probationary) employees with the City of Pleasanton. (Employees on probationary status as a result of promotions shall be deemed eligible under this plan.) B. Have met all requirements of their position as set forth in the City's Classification Plan in effect at the time the employee was hired. C. Intend to pursue an educational level related to his/her present position as determined by the Educational Standards Committee. - 29 -
