In recognition <br /> of this higher contribution by the City, the base monthly <br /> salaries paid these three employees, effective March 1, 1988 <br /> shall be adjusted to provide the following: <br /> <br /> Police Clerk (1) $2552 <br /> Supvg. Police Clerk (1) $2939 <br /> <br />Section 16. Uniform~ <br /> <br /> The City shall provide all necessary safety and protective <br /> clothing, as defined by the City Manager. The City shall provide <br /> fifty percent (50%) of the initial purchase price of uniforms for <br /> those Police and Fire Department employees required to wear a <br /> prescribed uniform. <br /> <br />16.1 Uniform Policy Admendment~ <br /> <br /> The City's uniform policy governing field services, park <br /> maintenance and finance department employees shall be amended as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> The City will provide five light weight, golf-type, short sleeve <br /> shirts for wear during the summer months. The shirts will be <br /> approximately 50% cotton with the color to match the color of <br /> existing uniform shirts. The City will be responsible for sewing <br /> on necessary patches and replacing shirts it determines to be no <br /> longer serviceable. The employee will maintain the shirts in a <br /> manner acceptable to the City. Employees, at their expense may <br /> wear "Levis" or similar type pants in lieu of the uniform pants <br /> provided by the City. The employee will be responsible for <br /> maintaining the pants in manner acceptable to the City. <br /> <br />16.2 Uniform Allowance <br /> <br /> The annual uniform allowance paid to employees in the classifica- <br /> tion of property and evidence technician (police), senior office <br /> assistant (police), police clerk, senior police clerk, super- <br /> vising police clerk, senior animal control officer, fire inspec- <br /> tor, and chemical specialist (fire) shall be two hundred sixty <br /> dollars ($260.00) per year and shall be paid in one payment on <br /> the first payday in April. <br /> <br />16.3 Reimbursement for Damaged or Destroyed Personal Clothin~ <br /> <br /> Exclusive of normal wear and tear, the City will reimburse em- <br /> ployees for the reasonable repair or replacement of their person- <br /> al clothing seriously damaged or destroyed in the performance of <br /> assigned duties; provided, however, no such reimbursement shall <br /> be made if the article(s) of clothing damaged or destroyed is <br /> inappropriate for the work place; damaged or destroyed as a <br /> result of the improper performance of the assigned work; damaged <br /> or destroyed as a result of an industrial injury the latter <br /> reimbursable under the city worker's compensation insurance <br /> program. <br /> <br /> - 28 - <br /> <br /> <br />
