19.2 Eligible Applicants <br /> <br /> Persons eligible to enroll in the Educational Incentive <br /> Plan shall have met all of the following requirements: <br /> <br /> A. Are permanent (non-probationary) employees with the <br /> City of Pleasanton. (Employees on probationary <br /> status as a result of promotions shall be deemed <br /> eligible under this plan.) <br /> <br /> B. Have met all requirements of their position as set <br /> forth in the City's Classification Plan in effect at <br /> the time the employee was hired. <br /> <br /> C. Employees hired on or before June 30, 1982 and <br /> having passed their probationary period shall be <br /> eligible for educational incentive pay for eligible <br /> college degrees or college credits (as provided for <br /> in Section 19.5) earned prior to their employment <br /> with the City following approval by the Educational <br /> Standards Committee. All employees hired on or <br /> after July 1, 1982 shall only be eligible for <br /> educational incentive pay for eligible college <br /> degrees or college credits (as provided for in <br /> Section 19.5) upon completion of five (5) years of <br /> employment with the Pleasanton Fire Department and <br /> following approval of the Educational Standards <br /> Committee. <br /> <br />19.3 Education Standards Committee <br /> <br /> An Educational Standards Committee comprised of the <br /> President of I.A.F.F. Local 1974, and Assistant to <br /> the City Manager, shall be established for the purposes <br /> of: <br /> <br /> A. Determining the eligibility of each employee to <br /> enroll in the Educational Incentive Program. <br /> <br /> B. Determining successful completion of the educational <br /> level for which educational incentive pay is to be <br /> received. <br /> <br /> - 23 - <br /> <br /> <br />
