Section 12. Vacations <br /> <br />12.1 Vacation Eliqibility <br /> <br /> All employees shall be entitled to annual vacation leave <br /> with pay except the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Employees who have served less than six (6) months <br /> in the service of the City. <br /> <br /> (2) Employees who work on a provisional basis. <br />12.2 Vacation Allowance <br /> <br /> (1) Commencing with his/her next anniversary date <br /> following April 1, 1981 each eligible employee on a <br /> fifty-six (56) hour work week shall be entitled to <br /> vacation with pay in accordance with the following <br /> schedule: <br /> <br /> Length of Service Vacation Entitlement <br /> <br /> 1 through 5 years 6 shifts <br /> 6 through 12 years 8 shifts <br /> 13 through 15 years 10 shifts <br /> 16 through 17 years ll shifts <br /> 18 years and over 12 shifts <br /> <br /> (2) Accrued vacation shall be credited tO the employee's <br /> account upon his/her anniversary date each year. <br /> <br /> (3) Any employee except a probationary employee may be <br /> allowed to incur a fifty-six (56) hour deficit <br /> beyond the vacation leave credited to his/her <br /> account on his/her anniversary date. A probationary <br /> employee may incur a five (5) day deficit in <br /> vacation leave after six (6) months full-time <br /> satisfactory service. <br /> <br /> (4) Effective July 1, 1986, vacations must be used in <br /> increments of either twenty-four (24) hours or <br /> twelve (12) hours. When used in twelve hour <br /> increments, vacation must be taken from either 8:00 <br /> a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. In the <br /> event the Fire Chief finds it necessary, he will <br /> meet and discuss with the Union the use of vacation <br /> in twelve hour increments. <br /> <br /> - 14 - <br /> <br /> <br />
