12.3 Vacation Accumulation <br /> <br /> Any eligible employee may defer up to a maximum of one <br /> and one-half (1-1/2) times his/her annual vacation <br /> entitlement to the year succeeding his/her anniversary <br /> date. <br /> <br />12.4 Vacation Schedule <br /> <br /> Vacation time requests shall be made on Pleasanton Fire <br /> Department vacation request forms. Vacation time shall <br /> be granted by seniority and shall be approved by the Fire <br /> Chief. <br /> <br /> Vacation time requested may be split more than once <br /> annually provided, however, that vacation time is taken <br /> in a minimum of one (1) full shift. Seniority shall be <br /> honored on each succeeding selection after all members of <br /> the shift have made a vacation selection. <br /> <br /> Effective July 1, 1986, three (3) employees may be off on <br /> vacation at the same time. <br /> <br /> If, for example in emergencies, the requirements of the <br /> service are such that an employee cannot take part of all <br /> of his/her annual vacation in a particular calendar year, <br /> such vacation shall be taken during the following <br /> calendar year. <br /> <br />12.5 Vacation Pay at Termination <br /> <br /> Any employee with one (1) or more years service with the <br /> City shall be paid for all accrued vacation leave earned <br /> prior to the effective date of termination. Such <br /> compensation for earned vacation shall be paid to the <br /> employee in one lump sum in a final check. <br /> <br /> - 15 - <br /> <br /> <br />
