6.7(3) Military Leave <br /> <br /> Military leave shall be granted in accordance with the <br /> provisions of the law. All employees entitled to <br /> military leave shall give the Appointing Authority an <br /> opportunity within the limits of military regulations <br /> to determine when such leave shall be taken. <br /> <br /> 6.7(4) Maternity Leave <br /> <br /> The Appointing Authority may grant, upon written re- <br /> quest, maternity leave without pay up to six (6) <br /> months upon determination that such leave will not <br /> adversely effect the needs of the city. <br /> <br />Section 7. Retirement <br /> <br /> 7.1 Membership <br /> <br /> All eligible management and confidential employees <br /> shall be members of the Public Employees' Retirement <br /> System. <br /> <br /> 7.2 Retirement Plans <br /> <br /> The specific plans provided management and confidential <br /> employees are as follows: <br /> <br /> Miscellaneous management and confidential employ- <br /> ees shall be provided the PERS 2%1@ 60 plan to <br /> include the following options: 1959 Survivors <br /> Benefit to include Section 21382.2 benefits, and <br /> credit for unused sick leave. <br /> <br /> Public safety management employees shall be pro- <br /> vided the PERS 2% @ 50 plan to include the follow- <br /> ing options: 1959 Survivors Benefit, credit for <br /> unused sick leave benefit (except for Police <br /> Management personnel), and one highest year com- <br /> pensation. <br /> <br /> 7.3 Payment - Employee's Contribution <br /> <br /> The City shall pay the employee's contribution to PERS. <br /> Each employee may, once during the term of his/her <br /> employment with the City, convert the City's payment of <br /> his/her PERS contribution to salary. The decision to <br /> convert, once made, shall be irrevocable. <br /> <br /> - 13 - <br /> <br /> <br />
