On July 1st of each year, each fire battalion chief <br /> shall be credited with twenty-four (24) hours of admin- <br /> istrative leave to be observed during the fiscal year. <br /> On December 31st of each year, employees may elect to <br /> be paid for up to twelve (12) hours of said leave. On <br /> June 30th of each year, each employee will be paid for <br /> all unused administrative leave. Payment for unused <br /> administrative leave shall be made at the eight (8) <br /> hour rate. No administrative leave may be carried over <br /> from one fiscal year to the next. <br /> <br /> Management employees hired after July 1st, but prior to <br /> April 1st of any fiscal year, shall receive prorated <br /> administrative leave. Except for fire battalion <br /> chiefs, managers shall receive 4.667 hours of <br /> administrative leave for each full month of employment <br /> occurring between the above dates. Fire battalion <br /> chiefs shall receive two (2) hours of administrative <br /> leave for each full month of employment occurring <br /> between the above dates. <br /> <br />6.7 Leaves of Absence <br /> <br />6.7(1) Leaves of Absence Without Pay <br /> <br /> The appointing authority may grant a full-time manage- <br /> ment or confidential employee leave of absence without <br /> pay or seniority for not to exceed three (3) months. <br /> No such leave shall be granted except in writing and <br /> upon written request of the employee setting forth the <br /> reason therefor. Upon expiration of a regularly-ap- <br /> proved leave, the employee shall be reinstated in the <br /> position held at the time leave was granted. Failure <br /> on the part of an employee on leave to report promptly <br /> at its expiration or within a reasonable time after <br /> notice to return to duty shall be cause for discipline. <br /> Department directors may grant full-time management and <br /> confidential employees leave of absence without pay for <br /> not to exceed one (1) calendar week. Such leaves <br /> shall be reported to the personnel officer. <br /> <br />6.7(2) Jur~ Leave <br /> <br /> Management and confidential employees called or re- <br /> quired to serve as a juror shall be entitled to leave <br /> from his/her duties with the city during the period of <br /> such service or while necessarily being present in <br /> court as a result of such call. <br /> <br /> - 12 - <br /> <br /> <br />
