WHEREAS, the City is desirous of utilizing the services of the Alameda <br />County Library System to operate library-related activities and to provide <br />equipment related to the general operation of the library; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises, covenants, and <br />agreements hereinafter set forth, the City and County mutually agree as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> 1. City Ownership. The City owns, and at all times shall continue to <br />own, the library structure and the entire library site, including the land, <br />the facility's parking lots, facility furniture, phone system and shelving. <br />The City may, at the written approval of the County, purchase additional <br />equipment, books, periodicals, and other library materials for use in the <br />facility. In addition, the City may, upon the written approval of County, <br />provide to the County for use in the facility books, periodicals, collections <br />and other library materials which have been given or donated to City. All <br />items, including additional furnishings and equipment purchased by City, <br />and/or books, periodicals, collections and other library materials which have <br />been given or donated to City, shall be properly inventorled with City and <br />shall 'remain the property of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> 2. County Ownership. The County owns, and at all times continues to own, <br />all of the books which are property of the Alameda County Library System, <br />periodicals and other library materials, and computer equipment placed in the <br /> <br />library facility as of , 1988. Subsequent purchases of this sort <br /> <br />by County shall remain the property of the County. <br /> <br /> -2- <br /> <br /> <br />
