6.40.200 <br />which shall have plainly printed thereon <br />the name of the owner, or the fictitious <br />name under which the owner operates, <br />the business address and telephone <br />number of the owner and a correct <br />schedule of rates to be charged for <br />conveyance in the vehicle. <br />I. Acceptance Of Personal Property - <br />Prohibited: It is unlawful for any driver <br />of a taxicab, or other vehicle regulated <br />by this Chapter, to purchase, accept, <br />receive, acquire or to agree to purchase, <br />accept, receive or acquire any article of <br />personal property in payment of any <br />fares due and payable for conveyance <br />in any taxicabs or vehicles regulated by <br />this Chapter. <br />J. Conformance To Color Scheme: <br />All taxicabs must conform to the color <br />scheme, insignia or any other distin- <br />guishing characteristics approved by the <br />Chief of Police at the same time as the <br />certificate was approved. (Ord. 1744 <br />§ 1, 1998) <br />6.40.210 Operating Regulations: <br />A. Direct Route: Any driver employ- <br />ed to transport passengers to a definite <br />point shall take the most direct route <br />that will take the passenger to their <br />destination safely and expeditiously. If <br />the passenger wishes to go a route dif- <br />ferent than the most direct route, the <br />driver must record on the manifest, as <br />described in Section 6.40.230 of this <br />Chapter, the route the passenger wishes <br />to take. <br />B. Receipts: If requested, every driv- <br />er shall give a receipt upon payment of <br />the correct fare. In case of a dispute the <br />matter shall be determined by the offi- <br />cer in charge at the police station. Fail- <br />ure to comply with such determinations <br />shall subject the offending party to a <br />charge of misdemeanor. <br />C. Number Of Passengers: No driver <br />of any taxicab shall accept, take into <br />his vehicle or transport any larger num- <br />ber of passengers than the rated seat <br />capacity of his or her vehicle. Rated <br />seat capacity shall mean three (3) pas- <br />sengers in the back seat and two (2) in <br />the front seat of the taxicab unless the <br />rated capacity of a taxicab is otherwise <br />designated, in writing, by the Chief of <br />Police. <br />D. Additional Passenger: Whenever <br />any taxicab is occupied by a passenger, <br />or passengers, the driver shall not per- <br />mit any other person to occupy, or ride <br />in, said taxicab, except at the specific <br />request of, and originating with, the <br />original passengers. <br />E. Deception Of Passengers: No driv- <br />er shall deceive or attempt to deceive <br />any passenger who may ride in his or <br />her taxicab as to the passenger's desti- <br />nation, or the rate of fare to be charged, <br />or cause the passenger to be conveyed <br />to a place other than directed. (Ord. <br />1744 § 1, 1998) <br />6.40.220 Maintenance Require- <br />ments: <br />A. Inspection Of Taxicabs: The own- <br />er of the taxicabs shall semiannually <br />take the taxicabs to the State Bureau of <br />Weights and Measures for recertifica- <br />tion of the taximeters.
