6.40.200 which shall have plainly printed thereon the name of the owner, or the fictitious name under which the owner operates, the business address and telephone number of the owner and a correct schedule of rates to be charged for conveyance in the vehicle. I. Acceptance Of Personal Property - Prohibited: It is unlawful for any driver of a taxicab, or other vehicle regulated by this Chapter, to purchase, accept, receive, acquire or to agree to purchase, accept, receive or acquire any article of personal property in payment of any fares due and payable for conveyance in any taxicabs or vehicles regulated by this Chapter. J. Conformance To Color Scheme: All taxicabs must conform to the color scheme, insignia or any other distin- guishing characteristics approved by the Chief of Police at the same time as the certificate was approved. (Ord. 1744 § 1, 1998) 6.40.210 Operating Regulations: A. Direct Route: Any driver employ- ed to transport passengers to a definite point shall take the most direct route that will take the passenger to their destination safely and expeditiously. If the passenger wishes to go a route dif- ferent than the most direct route, the driver must record on the manifest, as described in Section 6.40.230 of this Chapter, the route the passenger wishes to take. B. Receipts: If requested, every driv- er shall give a receipt upon payment of the correct fare. In case of a dispute the matter shall be determined by the offi- cer in charge at the police station. Fail- ure to comply with such determinations shall subject the offending party to a charge of misdemeanor. C. Number Of Passengers: No driver of any taxicab shall accept, take into his vehicle or transport any larger num- ber of passengers than the rated seat capacity of his or her vehicle. Rated seat capacity shall mean three (3) pas- sengers in the back seat and two (2) in the front seat of the taxicab unless the rated capacity of a taxicab is otherwise designated, in writing, by the Chief of Police. D. Additional Passenger: Whenever any taxicab is occupied by a passenger, or passengers, the driver shall not per- mit any other person to occupy, or ride in, said taxicab, except at the specific request of, and originating with, the original passengers. E. Deception Of Passengers: No driv- er shall deceive or attempt to deceive any passenger who may ride in his or her taxicab as to the passenger's desti- nation, or the rate of fare to be charged, or cause the passenger to be conveyed to a place other than directed. (Ord. 1744 § 1, 1998) 6.40.220 Maintenance Require- ments: A. Inspection Of Taxicabs: The own- er of the taxicabs shall semiannually take the taxicabs to the State Bureau of Weights and Measures for recertifica- tion of the taximeters.
