20.08.028 <br />2. Secs. 1.2 through 1.5. Delete. <br />3. Sec. 2.2. Delete first sentence <br />and substitute the following: <br />Allowable stress design values for <br />visually graded structural lumber, <br />mechanically graded structural lum- <br />ber and structural glued laminated <br />timber shall be in accordance with <br />NDS Supplement Tables 2A, 4A, 4B, <br />4C, 4D, SA, SB and SC. Values for <br />species and grades not tabulated shall <br />be submitted to the building official <br />for approval. <br />4. Sec. 2.3.2.1. In fourth sentence, <br />delete "or Figure B1 (see Appendix <br />g),~- <br />5. Sec. 2.3.2.3. Delete and substi- <br />tute the following: <br />1915.2.2 Base area of footing or <br />number and arrangement of piles <br />shall be determined from the external <br />forces and moments (transmitted by <br />footing to soil or piles) and permissi- <br />ble soil pressure or permissible pile <br />capacity selected through principles <br />of soil mechanics. External forces <br />and moments are those resulting <br />from the load combinations of Sec- <br />tion 1612.3. <br />(Ord. 1869 § 2, 2002) <br />20.08.030 Section 104.2.12 <br />Added -Installation Of <br />Spark Arresters: <br />Section 104.2.12 of the California <br />Building Standards Code 2001 Edition <br />(24 CCR), and including by reference <br />the Uniform Building Code, 1997 <br />Edition, is added to read as follows: <br />2.3.2.3 When using Section <br />1612.3.1 basic load combinations, <br />the Load Duration Factor, CD, noted <br />in Table 2.3.2 shall be permitted to <br />be used. When using Section <br />1612.3.2 alternate load combinations, <br />the one-third increase shall not be <br />used concurrently with the Load <br />Duration Factor, CD. <br />(Ord. 1869 § 2, 2002) <br />20.08.029 Section 1915.2.2 - <br />Amended: <br />Section 1915.2.2 of the California <br />Building Standards Code 2001 Edition <br />(24 CCR), and including by reference <br />the Uniform Building Code, is amended <br />to read as follows: <br />Section 104.2.12. Installation of <br />Spark Arresters. <br />1. Existing dwelling units shall be <br />retrofitted with a spark arrestor upon <br />the occurrence of any of the follow- <br />ing events: <br />I. Upon notice from the City; <br />II. Reroofing; <br />III. Resale of the dwelling unit; <br />IV. Issuance of a building permit for <br />alterations, repairs or additions in <br />excess of $1,000. <br />2. In the event of a resale of a dwell- <br />ing unit, the seller shall be responsi- <br />ble to comply with this ordinance. <br />Any real property professional repre- <br />senting the seller shall be required to <br />notify the seller of seller's obligation <br />to comply with this ordinance. <br />700-3 (Pleasanton April 2003) <br />
