She noted that Mills has submitted the necessary lot line adjustment application facilitating the release of building permits for those buildings. Mills is also concentrating on the two restaurants. The building plans for the Cheesecake Factory have been in the Planning Department, and she believed they were in the second round of comments. Mills has not indicated to staff that it is not moving forwazd; it is not proceeding with the Nordstrom's expansion at this time. Residential Sprinklers Commissioner Blank wished to follow up on the memo on sprinklers and expressed concern about the conclusion of the memo on sprinklers. He believed the item should be agendized in order to take public comment on whether it would be a good idea or not. He believed the need for approval by the City Council was at odds with the basic charter of the Planning Commission. Ms. Decker noted that this was staff s belated effort to respond to eazlier questions from the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission requested that staff determine what the differences were between the City of Pleasanton and the City of Livermore regazding requirements for the installation of fire sprinkler systems in new residential construction. Staff also wanted to receive further questions from the Planning Commission€rs regazding sprinklers in new residential construction so that they could be addressed by the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department. She added that staff has also ~ ~ requested the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department for either of two dates, May 24~h or June 28~', to agendize this item for discussion. She invited the Commissioners to email their questions to her or Maria Hoey in order to forwazd them to the Fire Department or directly to the Fire Department if desired. Hilltou and Ridgeton Development Commissioner Fox noted that she had attended a session at the Planner's Institute addressing ridgetop and hilltop development. One presenter stated that San Juan Capistrano described its ordinance where no grading or any type of development was allowed within 200 feet of a ridgetop in all directions. She inquired whether there was interest in looking at the wording of this ordinance for Pleasanton, especially from a landslide and safety perspective. Commissioner Blank did not mind agendizing that discussion. Chairperson Arkin supported agendizing the discussion as well and suggested discussing it with several Councilmembers to gauge support before staff invests significant time in it.
