City of P-easanton <br />(^ Application for: (1) design review approval for a City water tank to be <br />constructed on a portion of a 20-acre site located at 5 Windy Oaks Drive <br />(fonnerly 1680 Vineyard Avenue) in the Vineyazd Avenue Corridor Specific Plan <br />Area; and (2) conditional use permit approval to allow the temporary stockpiling <br />of approximately 14,000 cubic yards of excess soil from the City water tank <br />project on the upper portions of 5 Windy Oaks Drive. Zoning for the property is <br />PUD-HR/OS (Planned Unit Development -Hillside Residential/Open Space) <br />District. <br />This item was continued to May 10, 2006. <br />Ms. Decker wished to clazify that the legal description of this item was incorrect and had <br />not included PUD-55. She noted that a workshop had been held regarding both the City <br />Water Tank project and the proposed planned unit development for Mr. Reznick. Staff <br />had indicated that it would sepazate the water tank and perhaps the road from that project; <br />however, both projects would be presented to the Planning Commission for review and <br />action for the Planned Unit Development, the grading, the road, and the water tank at its <br />May 10, 2006. <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />/--~ Purple House Neaz the Golf Course <br />( Commissioner Roberts noted that she had heard several complaints regarding the purple <br />house at the end of the golf course. She would like to know why it was purple and <br />recalled that the Commission requested that the owner tone down the blue color. <br />Commissioner Fox noted that it had been appealed to the City Council, who gave the <br />applicants latitude to do what they wanted with the color. <br />Ms. Decker indicated that the project was denied by the Planning Commission and was <br />subsequently overturned by the City Council and approved. She did not have the details <br />regarding the color as conditioned, but staff has had several calls regarding the color and <br />concerns whether it was in conformity. Ms. Decker reported that Robin Giffin, the <br />project planner, had gone onsite with paint chips and confirmed it was the color that was <br />approved. The initial color that had been applied was a primer that was much brighter. <br />Article on Mills Corporation in the Wall Street Journal <br />Commissioner Roberts noted that the April 14, 2006 issue of the Wall Street Journal had <br />a front-page article about Mills Corporation, describing how a "glitzy mall developer <br />built its way into big trouble." <br />Ms. Decker noted that she was familiaz with the project and added that Mills had been <br />~ talking with staff regazding revising some of the recently approved plans.
