Agriculture and early techniques, i.e. butter making
Geology of the Valley
Etc.
E. City and ALVHS Collaborative Proms
The Annual Plan will include at least two annual collaborative programs,
whereby an event, display/exhibit, or program are interlocked to provide a
coordinated, two-site experience for casual visitors, organized school visits,
etc. For example, the City's Young Explorers Program and the Museum on
Main Street's School Program could be combined, with an individual school
class visiting the Museum for an introductory lecture and subsequently visit
the Park for a more hands-on experience that is related to the same theme or
topic. This could also apply to special exhibits or lectures, where causal
and/or invited guests would be encouraged to visit the sister site to follow up
on a related theme or topic. One of the two collaborative efforts should be a
joint school education program combining the Young Explorers Program and
Museum on Main Street School Program.
Implementation and program costs for each collaborative venture shall be
borne by the respective agency, i.e. all costs related to exhibits, programming,
and staffing at the Alviso Adobe shall be the responsibility of the City. All
costs related to exhibits, collaborative materials, and staffing at the Museum
on Main Street shall be the responsibility ALVHS. Both City and ALVHS
staff shall work together to develop and administer appropriate fees for each
collaborative program.
Timelines/Bencbmarks/Parameters for Tasks and Deliverables
CITY/ALVHS Meetings for Interpretive Plan Development and
Implementation:
November -Meeting #1 Plan coming academic year's goals and
objectives for Interpretive Plan, review lessons learned.
January -Meeting #2 Check progress of Plan development, progress for
spring deadlines, prep for docent training, develop operations-reservations-
implementation calendar for summer/fall programs.
April -Meeting #3 Interpretive Plan due for coming academic year,
confirm operations-reservation-implementation calendar for summer/fall.
August -Meeting #4 Review previous academic year and summer Ridge
Runner programs, prep for docent training, plan coming year's fee programs
and collaborative events.
