Contract for Professional Services <br />Exhibit A, Page 2 <br /> <br /> C. Inventory existing conditions: <br /> 1. Site visits, measuring & photography as necessary; <br /> <br /> 2. Interview Public Works Director (or designated representative) <br /> as to condition and location of water mains, sanitary sewer, and <br /> electric and gas lines. <br /> <br /> D. Using base information provided by City, prepare working base map <br /> at a scale of 1 inch = 20 feet. <br /> <br /> E. Prepare base maps at a larger scale as necessary for special conditions <br /> such as important buildings and their entrances, arcades & colonnades <br /> overhanging or built within the public right-of-way, special <br /> intersections, and/or special points of entry to the district. <br /> <br />II. Develop Preliminary Street Design based on approved design concept. <br /> <br /> A. Refine approved design concept and prepare sketches illustrating <br /> recommendations for the following aspects of the street improvements: <br /> <br /> 1. Layout plans at 1 in. = 20 ft. showing placement of tree wells, <br /> lights, trash receptacles, special paving areas, and special <br /> features. <br /> <br /> 2. Enlarged plans and sections illustrating the following aspects of <br /> the design: <br /> <br /> a. Treatment at special intersections, such as at entry points <br /> to district. <br /> <br /> b. Treatment of typical tree well and exact placement <br /> relative to face-of-curb. <br /> <br /> c. Typical placement of light standards (and other <br /> repetitively applied items, as necessary) relative to face- <br /> of-curb. <br /> <br /> d. Typical paving detail showing design concept at special <br /> areas, as necessary. <br /> <br /> e. Design concept for special architectural feature (e.g. <br /> special bus shelters, planters, seats, kiosks, or renovated <br /> scaffold for landmark sign). <br /> <br /> <br />
