r
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission
of the City of Pleasanton hereby denies
said application for the following reasons:
1. That it is anticipated that the immediate
area encompassing the restaurant may acme
day be converted into a mall system,
2. The narrowness of Division Street would
preclude the practicality of locating a
drive-in type of restaurant operation at
the corner of Main and Division Streets.
3. That the Police Department's ingress and
egress for emergency vehicles and other
police business will be in close proximity
to the restaurant, which maq be hazardous
traffic-wise.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY the Planning Commission of the City of
Pleasanton on the 9th day of April, 1969,
by the following vote:
Ayes: Commissioner Antonini
Commissioner Arnold
Commissioner Gibbs
Vice Chairman Garrigan
Noes:
Absent: Chairman Plato
Attest: Secretary Castro
c. Article 17 - Siana
Resolution to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 520 regarding the prohibiting of A-board
signs (continued from meeting of March 26, 1969).
Vice Chairman Garrigan opened the Public Hearing. Planning Director Castro
explained the reason for needing this ordinance. Mr. Castro felt it would be
useless to have a signing program for each applicant, only to have the entire
appearance ruined with an A-board or free-standing sign in front of an establi~h-
ment.
The City Attorney wanted some clarifications as to what the Coa®isaionere wanted
the ordinance to contain, and asked for a continuance of this matter to the next
regular meeting to allow him time to prepare the wording for the ordinance. This
was agreeable with the Commissioners, and upon motion of Commissioner Antonini,
seconded by Vice Chairman Garrigan, and carried, the Public Hearing was closed.
Upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Vice Chairman Garrigan, and
carried, the following resolution was offered:
RESOLUTION N0. 883
W$EREAS, the application of the Planning Commission
for a resolution to ametul Zoning Ordinance
No. 520 regarding the prohibiting of free-
standing signs, has came before this
Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that at the request of the City
Attorney for additional time to work out the
wording for said resolution, that thin
application be continued to the meeting of
April 23, 1969.
- 3 -
