,~

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that at the request of the
applicant, RZ-69-5 be continued to the next
regular meeting of the Planning Commission
on April 23, 1969.
PASSED AND ADOPTRD BY the Planning Commission of the City of
Pleasanton, on the 9th day of April, 1969,
by the following vote:
Ayes: Commissioner Antonini
Ca®isaioner Arnold
Commissioner Gibbs
Vice Chairmen Garrigan
Noes:
Absent: Chairman Plato
Attest: Secretary Castro
b. IIP-69-6, John Scontriano
Application for a conditional use permit to allow'the use of the property in a
C-C District for a restaurant, that property ca®only known as 561 Main Street
(Public Nearing continued from February 26, 1969).
Vice Chairman Garrigan opened the Public Nearing. Planning Director Castro
explained the staff report, together with the study which is partially complete
for the mall system between Peters and Railroad Avenues. Mr. Castro continued
to emphasize that the City staff still supports the idea made by Mr. John Blayney
that thin area be made into a mall system. Mr. Castro also referred to the
letter from the Police Chief objecting to a drive-in restaurant going in at that
corner of Main and Division Streets.
Assistant Planner Vince Aiello then demonstrated three separate schematics of the
proposed mall system to encompass this area. All three schematic drawings con-
cluded that it would be unfeasible for a restaurant to locate at the proposed
corner with the parking lot as noted.
The Commission questioned Mr. Scontriano whether he would be willing to locate
the restanrant there and if and when the mall system became a reality, would he
be willing to give up his parking apace. Mr. Scontriano replied that he wished
to obtain the piece of land exactly as it was now, and if it became necessary to
relocate his parking in years to come, then he would not be interested in locating
a restaurant there at all.
There being no further discussion, upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded
by Commissioner Arnold, and carried, the Public Nearing was closed.
Upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, and carried,
the following resolution was offered:
RESOLUTION N0. 882
WHEREAS, the application of John Scontriano for a
conditional use permit to allow the use of
that property for a drive-in type restaurant
in a C-C District in that property commonly
known as 561 Main Street, has come before
this Commission,
- 2 -
