west side of Santa Rita Road
lying approximately 237 ft., more
or less, north of the Arroyo del
Valle,
or that property commonly known as 915 Santa
Rita Road.
WHEREAS, said Co®iasion has held a Public Hearing on this
petition and has examined the pertinent maps,
drawings and documents and finds that one or more
of the following conditions do exist:
1. That the proposed amendment will not be
contrary to the spirit and intent of the
General Plan,
2. That the proposed amendment is in the public
interest and general welfare,
3. That the proposed amendment creates a more
equitable condition for the community than now
prevails.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the
City of Pleasanton hereby recommends to the City
Council the approval of said zone change amendment
as petitioned.
PASSBD AND ADOPTED BY the Planning Commission of the City of
Pleasanton on the 28th day of May, 1969, by the
following vote:
Ayes: Co®isaioner Antonini
Commissioner Garrigan
Commissioner Gibbs
Chairman Plato
Noes:
Absent:
Attest: ,Secretary Castro
b. RZ-69-10 D ~ V Builders, Inc...
Application to rezone from the A (Agricultural) District to the RM-2500 (Multiple
Family) District that property generally located east of Hopyard Road and south
of the Del Valle Parkway, said property containing 22.77 gross acres, more or
lees, and described in Assessor's Map Book 946, Page 3375, Parcel 2-2.
Chairman Ylato opened the Public Hearing. The Planning Director stated that the
staff had no objections to the rezoning. However, Commissioner Garrigan questioned
what the developer's intentions were in requesting this zone change at this time.
The applicant replied that he had nothing concrete planned for this parcel.
Commissioner Garrigan stated he was interested as he personally felt that parcel
of land was one of the moat beautiful that D 6 V Builders owns in the City of
Pleasanton. Chairman Plato also expressed curiosity as to the rezoning request
as no definite plane were in effect for its use should the rezoning be approved.
Commissioner Garrigan expressed a wish that D ~ V Builders to develop this parcel
under the P.V.D. for multiples.
Mr. Russell Jones, P. 0. Box 72, Pleasanton, inquired whether the parcel being
requested for rezoning is only that bounded by the Del Valle Parkway and Hopyard
Road and did not encompass the entire A District as designated on the zoning map.
Thin was clarified for Mr. Jones. Mr. Jones was also curious as to why the
applicant would request rezoning without some precise plan for the area. He
ventured a guess that it may be for tax reasons. There being no further comments
from the audience, upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner
Antonini, and carried, the Public Hearing was closed.
-4-
