~ ~.
To further demonstrate possible uses for the Central Business District, the
staff presented preliminary studies of a mall system running between Peters
Avenue and Main Street. Two renderings of two separate concepts were demon-
strated. The thought was to perhaps project a certain character or flavor to
the downtown area in order to make it more attractive as the central business
area of Pleasanton.
Mr. John Corley, the applicant of the rezoning request, concurred with all the
recommendations of the staff.
Mrs. Elvira Wicksteed, a property owner adjoining the property in question,
spoke in favor of the rezoning as petitioned.
Upon motion of Chairman Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Pereira, and carried,
the Public Hearing was closed.
Chairman Garrigan expressed a wish for further time to study the Office District.
There was considerable discussion regarding the parking space for the employees'
cars, which was satisfied by Mr. Corley. All parking will be on site.
Upon motion of Commissioner Pons, seconded by Chairman Garrigan, and carried,
the following resolution was offered:
RESOLUTION N0. 940
A resolution of the Planning Commission of
the City of Pleasanton, recommending to the
City Council the approval of Zone Change
No. 69-12, filed by Corley & Schwab.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton
has considered Zone Change Amendment No. 69-12
filed by Corley & Schwab to amend Sec.4.102 of
Zoning Ordinance No. 520 to change the zone
district from the R-1-6500 (Single Family)
District to the 0 (Office) District on that
property commonly known as 1056 Division Street,
Pleasanton.
WHEREAS, said Commission has held a Public Hearing on
this petition and has examined the pertinent
maps, drawings and documents and finds that
one or more of the following conditions do
exist:
1.
