<br />~. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the <br />City of Pleasanton recommends that the City <br />Council proceed with the final zoning of said <br />property designated Annexation #49 and that <br />final zoning for the land comprising said <br />annexation be established as A, R-1-6500 <br />zones as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton <br />on the 24th day of September, 1969, by the <br />following vote: <br />Ayes: Commissioners Antonini, Gibbs, <br />Pereira, Pons, Chairman Garrigan <br />Noes: <br />Absent: <br />Abstain: <br />Attest: Secretary Castro <br />e. Tabulation of survey on Valley Trails Sidewalk problem. <br />The Planning Director informed the Commission that the office had received a <br />91~ return of surveys sent to the residents within Valley Trails asking their <br />opinion whether or not sidewalks should go in in Unit #1 and be applicable to <br />the balance of the tract, as noted under Condition No. 17 of Resolution No. 763, <br />passed by the Planning Commission on March 13, 1968. Should the Commission, at <br />the completion of Unit #1 decide that sidewalks should go in, then these will <br />be taken care of at no expense to the homeowner. <br />Commissioners Antonini and Gibbs were admant that sidewalks be installed. <br />Mr. Dudley Frost spoke in favor of the elimination of sidewalks for aesthetic <br />purposes, ending his remarks by requesting a continuance. <br />A prolonged discussion ensued. Upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by <br />Commissioner Gibbs, the following resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 954 <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton <br />on March 13, 1968, approved said tentative map <br />with the understanding that at the completion of <br />Unit #1, the Commission would then determine if <br />the elimination of sidewalks on one side of the <br />street should be approved for that first unit and <br />continued on to the second unit, and, <br />WHEREAS, said Commission has considered this question at <br />several meetings and upon request of members of <br />the Planning Commission, a survey was conducted <br />requesting the property owners' comments and <br />opinions regarding approval of the concept as <br />presently improved, or that sidewalks be installed <br />for the entire development, <br />WHEREAS, upon a tabulation of said questionnaire, the <br />results indicated a two to one margin in favor of <br />the establishment of sidewalks throughout the <br />development. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the <br />City of Pleasanton hereby recommends that sidewalks <br />be installed for the entire development known as <br />Valley Trails. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton, <br />on the 24th day of September, 1969, by the <br />following vote: <br />Ayes: Commissioners Antonini, Gibbs, <br />Pereira, Chairman Garrigan <br />Noes: <br />Absent: <br />Abstain: Commissioner Pons <br />Attest: Secretary Castro <br />-9- <br />
