It would result in the removal of a large <br />and old barn from the property. <br />After a general discussion, it was the consensus of the Comisaiott that a pub- <br />lic hearing shkwld.be held on this application. Cosoiasioner Wharton pointed out <br />that the application was in keeping with the tentative lattd use guide prepared by <br />the Planning Consultant. Nr. Bosse explained time is isg~ortant, because he has an <br />option to buy which expires in two weeks. <br />Planning Cottsultant Bill Rugg stated the preliminary draft of the Neater Plan <br />indicated that this portiott of Augustine Street should be a pare of a 70-foot loop <br />street running to the north. The rear lot construction would be unaffected, how <br />ever. He led a general discussion as to the density proposed by the application as <br />corpared to the preliminary draft of the zoning ordinance under study. The area <br />fell short by a few square feet of meeting the suggested requirements because of a <br />requirement for additional area for single family units in a development such as <br />that proposed by the application. It wan suggested that the additional area might <br />not be needed. <br />Commissioners expressed the opinion that they would like to see the property <br />at least before they decide, pointing out the application had been presented after <br />the agenda for the mNting had been distributed. Chairman Wetherby moved that the <br />matter be taken under advisement until December 12, 1957 at which tips the matter <br />would be considered without holding a public hearing. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Trowbridge. <br />Commissioner Wharton felt that if the decision is to be deferred, a public <br />hearing should be held, since it would take no more time and would give the public <br />an opportunity to be heard. <br />The applicant was asked if he could provide information relative to the following; <br />Dimensions of the building - existing and proposed <br />Location of existing trees <br />Proposed garage and parking spaces <br />&asements and access - with dimensions <br />Side yards <br />The applicant agreed and asked if the Commission intends to defer a decision, <br />could he have an informal indication of the Commisaion~s feelings relative to the <br />use of the land on some basis, so that he might pick up or drop his option. The <br />Commission suggested he try to get an extension on the option beyond the meeting <br />tentatively scheduled for December 12, 1457. <br />With the permission of the second, Chairman Wetherby withdrew his previous <br />motion and moved that: <br />The decision on applicatiott be deferred and that a public hearing be held at <br />8:00 P.K. on December 12, 1957 at which time the applicant would present the data <br />requested by the Cosmiasioa. The motion was seconded by Cosnieafoner Hanifen and <br />unanimously carried. <br />The City Attorney explained to the Commission and-the applicant that he would <br />have to look into the possible legal problems presented by requirements of the <br />building code. He stated he would have a report at the next meeting. <br />Application of Dr. G.
