those identified as short- and long-term improvements <br />identified in the above-mentioned water service studies and <br />as deemed necessary by the City Engineer. Owners agree to <br />participate in the funding of such improvements in whichever <br />manner best achieves timely completion of such improvements <br />concurrent with the development of the project site. The <br />City may require funding by (1) assessment district or <br />districts in which Owners agree to place the project site; <br />(2) benefit district proceedings; or (3) any other mechanism <br />or combination of mechanisms determined necessary by the City <br />Engineer and/or the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> If Owners install on the project site oversized water <br />mains or any other water facilities which are ~oth in excess <br />of the capacity required for the project site alone and <br />create a reduction in the cost of the new water facilities <br />necessary for the North Pleasanton area, the Owners will be <br />credited for such reduction and/or, if permissible under the <br />financing mechanism selected by the City, will be directly <br />reimbursed therefor. <br /> <br />III. FIRE SERVICE STUDIES AND REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br /> Owners agree to pay their proportionate share of the <br />cost of studies of fire service requirements if the cost of <br />such studies is determined by City to be apportioned as part <br />of an assessment district or other funding mechanism. Owners <br />agree to participate in the financing of the fire apparatus, <br />manpower, and other fire safety facilities required to serve <br />the projects developed on the project site or made necessary <br /> <br /> -3- <br /> <br /> <br />
