3. Street Names - The. following names ere not reaommended for uae~ and it <br />is recommended that the developer.aubmit substitutes for. approval. Brandywine <br />In accordance wiC~ pre+~idUsly adopted Plennind Commis§iotr policy. .the <br />term "Avenue" would be restricted for use bn a bedondary pndivided <br />thoroughfare, and Kottinger Avenue, Grenache Avenue and Touriga Avenue <br />do not fit this classification. It is suggested that the terminology <br />be changed to "Drive". This will affect the existing portion of <br />Kottinger Avenue also. <br />4. Adiacent Street Pattern - The possibility of extending the streets shown <br />stubbed to the Tract boundary has not been determined. The developer <br />proposes to have a possible street layout plan for the adjacent areas <br />available at the meeting of June 12. A recommendation will be made after <br />review of that plan. <br />5. Grading Plana - It ie recommended that the Commission require rough <br />grading plane to be submitted for approval on any areas where the average <br />elope exceeds 5% prior to approval of the final map covering those areas. <br />6. Specifications and Standard Details - In accordance with Section 8.01 <br />of Ord. No. 358, it is requested that the City Engineer be authorized <br />to modify the City's existing Standard Specifications and Details in <br />applying them to this subdivision in order to allow for modern materials. <br />methods and design criteria as may be required, Some specific recommend- <br />ations for such modifications are as follows: <br />s. Specifications for sewer and water pipe should be modified to allow <br />newer type joints. <br />b. Specifications for street name signs should be modified to require <br />white reflectorized letters, block numbers and arrows on green <br />coated aluminum sheeting as previously approved by the Planning <br />Commission and City Council. <br />c. Street structural design method should be modified Co require design <br />by the California R-Value method using a Traffic Index for each <br />street as specified by the City Engineer. <br />d. Reference should be made to the 1960 Standard Specifications of the <br />State Division of Highways, rather than the 1954 edition, particularlX <br />with reference to roadway materials. <br />2. <br />
