no further comments from the audience, it was moved by Commissioner Lozano, seconded <br />by Co~iseioner Antonini, and carried, that the public hearing be closed, Mr. Pales <br />in giving the staff report, referred to the report of Livingston and Blayney on the <br />proposed annexation, dated May 15, 1964, in which they state a mobile home park <br />would be an appropriate use on tl-e rear portion of the property, and appropriate <br />zoning would be C-T. The staff recommends that a street in back of the property be <br />conatructecl, retention and possible extension of the facility now present on the <br />property, andrecommendation to the City Council to proceed crith annexation with <br />C-T zoning upon annexation. After discussion by the Commission, upon motion of <br />Commissioner Rega, seconded by Commissioner Johnston, the following resolution was <br />adopted by unanimous vote: <br />RESOLllTION N0, 318 <br />RESOLVHD: <br />The City Planning Coa~misaion hereby recommends to the <br />City Council that proposed Annexation No. 34, be <br />consummated by the City of Pleasanton, and that, upon <br />annexation, the subject property be zoned C-T (Commercial <br />Thoroughfare) under the acme terms and conditions re- <br />garding land use as were applied to the area of Annexation <br />No. 33. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of John M. Stanley, <br />3850-J Vineyard Avenue, for an amendment to Ord. No. 309 rezoning the property <br />located at 4263 Pleasanton Avenue from R-1 to RG-25. Mr, Stanley was present is <br />the audience, There being no comments from the audience, it was moved by <br />Co:~ieaioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, and carried, that the <br />public hearing be cloned. Mr. Falea stated that the staff recommends rezoning the <br />subject parcel to RG-25, as it is contiguous to a larger parcel recently rezoned <br />from R-1 to RG-25 on reco®endation of the City Planning Consultants, Livingston <br />and Blayney, dated February 7, 1964, After discussion by the Commission, upon <br />motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Lozano, the following <br />resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLDTION N0. 319 <br />WHEREAS, the application of John M. Stanley, 3850-J Vineyard Avenue, for an <br />amendment to Ord. No. 309 rezoning the property located at 4263 <br />Pleasanton Avenue from R-1 to RG-25 hoe come before this Co®isaion; and <br />WHEREAS this Commission does find that; <br />1. Notice has been given as required by Section 22.104 <br />of Ordinance No. 309; <br />2. The proposed amendment conforms with the Pleasanton <br />General Plan; and <br />3. The public necessity and general welfare require the <br />proposed change of district; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED, that the City Planning Coa®ieaion does hereby recommend for <br />approval by the City Co~mcil the application for rezoning of <br />the subject property as described above. <br />Chairman Landon ogened the public hearing on the application of C. Beratlis, 550 <br />Main Street., Pleasanton, for an amendment to Ord, No, 309 rezoning a parcel of <br />property located at 366 Christina Court from the R-1 to the R-2 District, Mr. <br />Beratlis was present in the audience and stated that, because of the unique <br />character of the lot, his proposal for the construction of two duplexes is the <br />only economically workable solution. He stated the subject lot was created by the <br />Water District in 1916, and now, as an open reservoir, it is a hazard to small <br />children, in addition to which it produces a mosquito problem. Mr, H, R, Shamblin <br />spoke against the proposal, reciting that a petition signed by residents of the <br />subject area has been filed in opposition to the proposal, and emphasized the <br />parking problem which he felt would be created with greater density.
