<br />Chairmen Landon opened the public hearing on the application of M. E. Stanley, 648
<br />Bonita Ave., fora Conditional Uee Permit in order to construct an automobile ser-
<br />vice station on a parcel of property located immediately north of the intersection
<br />of Main and First Streets, in a C-C District, continued from July 28 and September
<br />8. Mr. Campbell read a letter received from Mr. Ronald J. Motta, Attorney for Mr.
<br />Stanley, requesting this matter be dropped from the agenda and that the above appli-
<br />cation for a Conditional Uae Permit ae well ae the application fora Zoning Permit
<br />be withdrawn permanently. It was moved by Commissioner Antonini, seconded by
<br />Commissioner Johnston, and carried, that the public hearing be closed, After dis-
<br />cuaeion by the Commission, upon motion of Chairmen Landon, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Johnston, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote:

<br />RESOLVED:
<br />On request of the applicant and upon opinion of the City
<br />Attorney, the permission to withdraw the applications of
<br />M. E. Stanley, 648 Bonita Ave., for a Conditional Uae Permit,
<br />and Zoning Permit with Site Plan, Architectural and Land-
<br />scape Approval, in order to construct an automobile service
<br />station on a parcel of property located immediately north
<br />of the intersection of Main and First Streets, in a C-C
<br />Dietrlct, is granted.
<br />Upon consideration by the Planning Commission of the parti-
<br />cular land uses proposed by both applications, the staff
<br />report of June 23, 1965, concerning the Zoning Permlt, and
<br />the staff report of July 28, 1965, concerning the Conditional
<br />Uee Permit, are hereby approved.
<br />As additional consideration, the Planning Coa®ission points
<br />to the zoning and land use set forth for Mission Park for
<br />service stations, in respect to how close together they
<br />may be placed.
<br />Mr. Struthers joined the Planning Commission at 8:25 P.M., at which time Mr. Arthur
<br />H. Plato, Jr., was duly sworn in as Planning Commissioner to fill the unexpired term
<br />of Frank Lozano.
<br />The next item on the agenda was the Further consideration of the application of Mre.
<br />Chester Roae1, 9838 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland, for a Variance from the requirements
<br />of Ord. No. 309, and a Zoning Permit with Site Plan, Architectural and Landscape
<br />Approval, in order to construct multiple dwelling units at 492 St. John St., in an
<br />RG-15 District, continued from April 28, May 12, May 26, June 9, Sept. 8, and Sept.
<br />22. Mr. Struthers stated that at the City Council meeting of October 4, 1965, the
<br />City made arrangements to buy this property and that no further action need be
<br />taken on the two above applications.
<br />The next Item on the agenda was the application of Dr. K. W, West, 935 "A" Street,
<br />Hayward, for a Zoning Permit with Site Plan, Architectural and Landscape Approval,
<br />in order to remodel a structure located at 706 Main St., in a C-C District, for use
<br />as a business office, continued from Sept. 22, 1965. Mr. Campbell reviewed the
<br />staff report. The Co®isalon discussed in more detail the parking problems connected
<br />with this building. Dick Niaely, representing Dr. K. W. West, was in the audience,
<br />and stated that no solution to the parking problem had been made at this time. After
<br />further consideration, upon motion of Chairman Landon, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Johnston, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote:
