M I N U T E S of THE MEETING of THE PLANNING COMMISSION Pleasanton, California October 13, 1965 The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, October 13, 1965, by Chairmen Landon. ROLL CALL showed the following: Present: Chairman Landon Commissioners Antonini Johnston Absent Co®isaioner Rega Secretary Fales Director of Public Works Alan Campbell served ae Secretary Pro Tempore for thls meeting. On motion of Commissioner Johnston, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the minutes of the meeting of September 22, 1965, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of S. V. Builders, Inc., 319 MacArthur Blvd., San Leandro, for a Conditional Use Permit in order to install directional signs for the Vintage Hills development at several locations. The staff report was presented by Mr. Campbell, along with the sign and maps showing the pro- posed location of the signs. A total of eleven signs will be used for this parti- cular development. Mr. Pardini, representing S. V. Builders, reiterated the advan- tages of this type of sign and it was saved by Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Coareissioner Johnston, and carried, that the public hearing be closed. The Commis- sion discussed the possible problems of too many signs, ae well as the beat location for signs. Upon motion of Chairmen Lamson, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. RESOLUTION N0. 467 RESOLVED: The City Planning Commission recommends to the City Council that they approve the use of directional signs ae a statement of policy. Upon motion of Chairman Landon, seconded by Coa~isaioner Johnston, the following resolution, in connection with the above, was adopted by unanimous vote. RESOLUTION N0. 468 RESOLVED: The application of S. V. Builders, Inc., 319 MacArthur Blvd., San Leandro, for a Conditional Uae Permit in order to install directional signs for the Vintage Hills development at several locations, is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: 1. The City Council moat approve the general use of the subject sign. 2. The eigas shall be limited in cwmber to eleven, and shall be located ae indicated on the map. 3. This permit is issued for a period of one year from the date of approval. 4. This permit is issued subject to the issuance of an encroachment permit for said signs. The encroachment permit will provide for additional time limitations, for the relocation or removal of said signs, and will eetabliah precise locations for said signs.
