M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />October 13, 1965 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, October 13, 1965, by Chairmen Landon. <br />ROLL CALL showed the following: <br />Present: Chairman Landon <br />Commissioners Antonini <br />Johnston <br />Absent Co®isaioner Rega <br />Secretary Fales <br />Director of Public Works Alan Campbell served ae Secretary Pro Tempore <br />for thls meeting. <br />On motion of Commissioner Johnston, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the minutes <br />of the meeting of September 22, 1965, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of S. V. Builders, Inc., <br />319 MacArthur Blvd., San Leandro, for a Conditional Use Permit in order to install <br />directional signs for the Vintage Hills development at several locations. The staff <br />report was presented by Mr. Campbell, along with the sign and maps showing the pro- <br />posed location of the signs. A total of eleven signs will be used for this parti- <br />cular development. Mr. Pardini, representing S. V. Builders, reiterated the advan- <br />tages of this type of sign and it was saved by Commissioner Antonini, seconded by <br />Coareissioner Johnston, and carried, that the public hearing be closed. The Commis- <br />sion discussed the possible problems of too many signs, ae well as the beat location <br />for signs. Upon motion of Chairmen Lamson, seconded by Commissioner Antonini, the <br />following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 467 <br />RESOLVED: <br />The City Planning Commission recommends to the City Council <br />that they approve the use of directional signs ae a statement <br />of policy. <br />Upon motion of Chairman Landon, seconded by Coa~isaioner Johnston, the following <br />resolution, in connection with the above, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 468 <br />RESOLVED: <br />The application of S. V. Builders, Inc., 319 MacArthur Blvd., <br />San Leandro, for a Conditional Uae Permit in order to install <br />directional signs for the Vintage Hills development at several <br />locations, is hereby approved, subject to the following <br />conditions: <br />1. The City Council moat approve the general use of the <br />subject sign. <br />2. The eigas shall be limited in cwmber to eleven, and <br />shall be located ae indicated on the map. <br />3. This permit is issued for a period of one year from <br />the date of approval. <br />4. This permit is issued subject to the issuance of an <br />encroachment permit for said signs. The encroachment <br />permit will provide for additional time limitations, <br />for the relocation or removal of said signs, and will <br />eetabliah precise locations for said signs. <br />
