Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of H. G. Davies, 4197 <br />Cristobal Way, for a Variance from Section 17.604, Ordinance No. 309, in order to <br />operate a citizens band radio in connection with a taxicab business as a home occu- <br />pation, at the above address in an R-1 District. Mr. Fales presented the staff re- <br />port which recommended approval with conditions. This report further stated that <br />the proposed use is not specifically listed under home occupations in the Zoning <br />Ordinance, that this use is relatively new and becoming more customary and that a <br />determination should be made as to whether or not this is today a customary use in <br />a residence. Upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Rega, <br />and carried, the public hearing was closed. After further discussion, upon motion of <br />Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Plato, the following resolution was <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION N0: 545 <br />WHEREAS, the application of H. G. Davies, 4197 Cristobal Way, <br />for a Variance from Section 17.604, Ordinance No. 309, <br />in order to operate a citizens band radio in connection <br />with a taxicab business as a home occupation, at the <br />above address in an R-1 District, has come before this <br />Commission: <br />NOTd, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the above-named application be approved with the <br />following conditions: <br />1. There be no unusual outside evidence of this use <br />that would create a nuisance to the neighborhood. <br />The "nuisance" value shall be determined by the <br />Public Works Department and the Police Department. <br />2. Performance standards, particularly regarding noise <br />or electrical disturbance, shall continue to be met <br />during the period of use. <br />3. Time Limitation of two years, at which time this <br />use shall cease. <br />Chairman Landon opened the public hearing on the application of the Pleasanton <br />Valley Company, 6000 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, for a Conditional Use Permit in <br />order to install a subdivision directional sign on the west side of Hopyard Road <br />immediately south of the Pleasanton Canal, in an Interim A District. Mr. Fales pre- <br />sented the staff report which pointed out that this sign is presently existing on the <br />west side of Hopyard on the north side of the Pleasanton Canal. Dudley Frost was <br />present in the audience. Upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Com- <br />missioner Plato, and carried the public hearing was closed. After further discussion, <br />upon motion of Commissioner Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Johnston, the follow- <br />ing resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 546 <br />WHEREAS, the application of the Pleasanton Valley Company, <br />6000 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, for a Conditional <br />Use Permit in order to install a subdivision <br />directional sign on the west aide of Hopyard Road <br />immediately south of .the Pleasanton Canal, in an <br />Interim A District, has came before this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the above-named application be approved subject <br />to the following conditions: <br />1. Time limitation of four yearn. <br />2. Upon receiving written notice from the City of <br />Pleasanton, sign is to be moved within ninety <br />days from date of letter. <br />
