<br />5b. Z-66-44. First Pleasanton Investors.
<br />The next item to be considered was the application of First Pleasanton Investors,
<br />SS2 Market Street, San Francisco, for a Zoning Permit in order to install an
<br />advertizing sign in connection with an automobile service station at the southeast
<br />quadrant of the U.S. 580 - Santa Rita Road interchange, in a C-T District. Mr.
<br />Spink informed the Commission that the previous staff report dated January 11, 1967,
<br />was still applicable to this application. After further discussion, upon motion
<br />of Commissioner Plato, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan, and carried, it was
<br />determined, with the consent of the applicant, to continue this item to the
<br />meeting of February 8, 1967.
<br />4d. V-67-2. R. A. Shotwell.
<br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of R. A. Shotwell,
<br />5148 Black Avenue, for a Variance from Section 16.602, Ordinance No. 309, in
<br />order to allow construction of an accessory building within 10 feet of the dwelling,
<br />at the above address in an R-1 District. Mr. Spink presented the staff report
<br />which recommended approval of this application. Mr. Shotwell was present in the
<br />audience and concurred with the staff report. Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan,
<br />seconded by Chairman Antonini, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After
<br />further discussion, upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Plato, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br />WHEREAS, the application of R. A. Shotwell, 5148 Black
<br />Avenue, for a Variance from Section 16.602,
<br />Ordinance No. 309, in order to allow construction
<br />of an accessory building within LO feet of the

<br />has come before this Commission:

<br />374 Ray Street, for a Variance from the strict application of Section 11.201,
<br />Ordinance No. 309, in order to locate a free standing sign in connection with an
<br />existing office use, such sign to be located more than 8 feet from the building at
<br />the above address, in a C-C District. Mr. Spink presented the staff report which
<br />recommended approval of this item. Mr. Spink also drew attention to the number
<br />of free standing signs on Spring Street and Ray Street pertaining to commercial
<br />uses in residences and tha need for a policy to guide property owners as residences
<br />are cotrverted to commercial use. Upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by
<br />Commissioner Garrigan, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After further
<br />discussion, upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Commissioner Garrigan,
<br />the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.
