AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br /> <br /> This Agreement is made and entered into by the City of <br />Pleasanton, hereinafter referred to as "Employer", and BIDDLE & <br />ASSOCIATES, INCORPORATED, 903 Enterprise Drive, Suite #1, <br />Sacramento, California 95825, hereinafter referred to as <br />"Consultant." <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Employer proposes to engage the Consultant to <br />render certain professional services in support of the Employer's <br />effort; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the desired studies and advice require technical <br />expertise and experience which the Consultant has demonstrated it <br />possesses; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is recognized that the Consultant cannot provide a <br />guarantee of compliance or immune the Employer from liability or <br />damages; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. Employment of Consultant. The Employer hereby agrees to <br /> engage the Consultant, and the Consultant hereby agrees <br /> to perform the services hereinafter set forth. <br /> <br /> 2. Contacts for Responsibility. The Director of Personnel, <br /> shall be the Employer's designated representative for the <br /> purposes of administering this Agreement. <br /> <br /> 3. Scope of Service. The Consultant shall work with the <br /> Employer to develop a job analysis, selection plan, <br /> supplemental application form and interview process for <br /> the classifications of Sanitary Sewer Operator I, Water <br /> System Operator I, Street Maintenance Worker I and Park <br /> Maintenance Worker I. <br /> <br /> 4. Cooperation with the Consultant. The Employer agrees to <br /> cooperate with the Consultant to the extent possible. <br /> <br /> 5. Time of Performance. The services of the Consultant for <br /> this Agreement shall be undertaken and completed within a <br /> negotiated time schedule. The time performance of this <br /> Agreement may be modified by mutual consent of the <br /> parties. <br /> <br /> 6. Compensation. The Employer agrees to pay the Consultant <br /> the total sum of twenty thousand ($20,000) for the <br /> services set forth herein. These sums include the <br /> Consultant's fees, computer and secretarial costs, travel <br /> expenses etc., of the Consultant. These fees cover the <br /> work described in item 3 above.
