Mr. Dudley Frost, <br />representing D & V Builders, Inc., rtas present in the audience and concurred <br />with the staff report. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commiss- <br />ioner Garrigan, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After further dis- <br />cussion, upon motion of Commissioner Arnold, seconded by Chairman Antonini, <br />the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 666 <br />WHEREAS, the application of D & V Builders, Inc., 6000 Telegraph <br />Avenue, Oakland, California, for an amendment to Ordi- <br />nance No. 309 rezoning approximately 39 acres in the <br />area generally bounded by Hopyard Road, Valley Avenue, <br />Crestline Road extended north of Valley and the Pleasanton <br />Canal, from the A (Agricultural) District to the R-1 <br />(Single Family Residence) District, has come before <br />this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the Planning Co®ission recommend to the City Council <br />the amendment to Ordinance No. 309 rezoning the subject <br />property from A to R-1 in accordance with Exhibit "A". <br />4c. GPA-67-2. Pleasanton Citv Council. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of the Pleasanton <br />City Council for a General Plan Amendment redesignating the location of the <br />Civic Center complex and modifying the generalized circulation system in the <br />vicinity of the Civic Center Complex. Mr. Spink presented the staff report <br />which recommended that the Com<siasion receive public comments and then continue <br />the public hearing to May 10, 1967, for completion of staff report and report <br />of the Civic Center Sub-committee. Mr. Fales, representing the City Council, <br />was present in the audience and agreed with the recommendation of the Planning <br />Director to continue the Public Hearing to allow the staff more time to <br />evaluate adjacent land use and traffic circulation; also to allow the Civic <br />Center Sub-committee time to become better acquainted with the new location. <br />Mr. idiley of Nei71 Smith & Associates, was also present in the audience and <br />offered to answer any question the Commission or public might have. Mr. Wiley <br />stated that the old site would not be easily visible from Main Street and that <br />the new location would allow clear visibility. Mr. George Spiliotopoulos <br />spoke regarding the Central Business District signs proposed and stated that <br />these signs would help to direct people to where they desired to go. It was <br />further pointed out that parking for approximately 400 care would be required, <br />and that it might be possible to eliminate the off-set intersection at Main <br />and Abbie Streets. Mr. Vic Lund, Jr., was present in the audience and asked <br />what the difference in cost would be for the acquisition of the land for the <br />new site as compared to acquisition of the land for the old site. Mr. Lund <br />also asked whether or not the City of Pleasanton has the bonded indebtedness <br />to buy and build the first phase of the Center. Mr. Spink noted that the <br />Planning Commission's major concerns were land use and circulation and that <br />questions concerning cost and bonded indebtedness capability are moetappro- <br />priately answered at the Council level. UPON MOTION OF CHAIRMAN ANTONINI, <br />SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER ARNOLD, AND CARRIED, IT WAS DETERMINED TO CONTINUE <br />THT.S PUBLIC HEARING TO THE MEETING OF MAY 10, 1967. This public hearing was <br />continued with the consent of the applicant. <br />4d. V-67-14. A. F. Waugh. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of A. F. Waugh, <br />689 Del Sol Avenue for a Variance from Sections 18.101 and 18.603.1 to allow a <br />6 foot fence to be located within the side street side yard of a corner lot at <br />the above address in an R-1 District. Mr. Spink presented the staff report <br />which recommended approval. Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by <br />commissioner Johnston, and carried, the public hearing was closed. After <br />further discussion, upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner <br />Johnston, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 667 <br />WHEREAS, the application of A.
