M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />April 2K, 1967 <br />The regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order <br />at 8:07 P. M., on Wednesday, April 26, 1967, by Chairman Antonini. <br />Present: Commissioner Arnold <br />Johnston <br />Chairman Antonini <br />Secretary Spink <br />Absent: Commissioner Garrigan <br />Plato <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Johnston, seconded by Chairman Antonini, and carried, <br />the minutes of April 12, 1967, were approved as presented by unanimous vote. <br />Commissioner Garrigan joined the meeting at 8:10 P.M. <br />4a. V-67-13. Cone Peterson Associates. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of Cope Peterson <br />Associates, 1367 Post Street, San Francisco, as agent for Colorado and Nevada <br />District, Lutheran Church for a Variance from Sections 17.619 and 17.306.1 to <br />allow elimination of a required fence and a reduction in width of required land- <br />scape area in connection with the construction of a church to be located at <br />the southwest corner of Hopyard Road and Golden Road in an R-1 District. Mr. <br />Spink presented the staff report which recommended approval with conditions. <br />Several residents from the general area around the church site were present <br />in the audience and indicated no objections to this proposal. Mrs. Arbuckle <br />questioned the screeening via trees and was informed that the trees should be <br />approximately as high as the required fence would be and that adequate screen- <br />ing would take from one to five years, depending on the growth of the trees. <br />Upon motion of Chairman Antonini, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, and carried, <br />the public hearing was closed. After further discussion, upon motion of Com- <br />missioner Johnston, seconded by Commissioner Arnold, the following resolution <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. _665 <br />WHEREAS, The application of Cope Peterson Associates, 1367 Post <br />Street, San Francisco, as agent for Colorado and Nevada <br />District, Lutheran Church for a Variance from Sections 17.619 <br />and 17.306.1 to allow elimination of a required fence <br />and a reduction in width of required landscape area in <br />connection with the construction of a church to be located <br />at the southwest corner of Hopyard Road and Golden Road <br />in an R-1 District has come before this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: that the above named application be approved subject to the <br />following conditions: <br />(1) The planting strip between the church site and Harvest <br />Park to be reduced to five feet and the planting of this <br />strip to be integrated with the planting on the adjacent <br />park site. <br />(2) A landscaped area not less than 40 feet wide from the curb <br />line be maintained along the frontage of Golden Road and <br />planted as shown on Exhibit A to this variance. <br />4b. RZ-67-2. D & V Builders Inc. <br />Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of D ~ V Builders, <br />Inc., 6000 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, California for an amendment to Ordinance <br />No. 309 rezoning approximately 39 acres in the area generally bounded by Hopyard <br />Road, Valley Avenue, Crestline Road extended north of Valley and the Pleasanton <br />Canal, from the A (Agricultural) District to the R-1 (Single Family Residence) <br />District. Mr. Spink presented the staff report which recommended approval. <br />Mr. Spink further stated that the area of the Fulton property has been set aside <br />4-26-67 <br />
