RESOLUTION N0. 704 <br />WHEREAS, the application of the City Council for an amendment to <br />Ordinance No. 309, amending the Zoning Map to rezone and <br />prezone the incorporated area of the City of Pleasanton <br />and the area of the Pleasanton General Plan as adopted to <br />apply the Residential Overlay District (ROD) to the <br />entire area generally bounded by Route 50, Route 84 <br />Freeway and the Pleasanton, Main and Sunol Ridges, has <br />come before this Commission: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED: to recommend to the City Council that the area within the <br />designated boundaries of the Pleasanton General Plan <br />be zoned and prezoned to ROD designation with the under- <br />lying designations to remain unchanged. <br />Sa. Z-67-37, Z-67-38. Diamond Signs. <br />The next item on the agenda was the application of Diamond Signs, 275 Post <br />Street, San Jose, for two zoning permits for off-tract subdivision signs for <br />the Vintage Hills development to be located at the intersection of Bernal Avenue <br />and Foothill Road and at the intersection of Valley Avenue and Hopyard Road. <br />Mr. Spink presented the staff report. Mr. Pardini, of Perms-Bilt Homes, was <br />present in the audience and stated that, in his opinion, the larger billboard <br />type signs would be better than smaller signs now in use. Mr. Pardini also <br />stated that he was willing to remove all but two of the small signs in the area <br />in lieu of the proposed two billboard signs. Mr. Spink indicated that possibly <br />one large sign would be more desirable than several other signs. After further <br />discussion, UPON MOTION OF CHAIRMAN ANTObTINI, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER GARRIGAN, <br />AND CARRIED, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ABOVE NAMED APPLICATION BE APPROVED <br />SUBJECT TO EXHIBIT A's AND THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br />1. Approval is granted for the two locations for 30 square foot signs as allowed <br />by the Ordinance. The approval shall be for a period of one year or for <br />six months after the new Zoning Ordinance is adopted, whichever is less. <br />2. Approval of sign area to 50 square feet per sign is subject to application <br />for and approval of the required Variances. <br />3. All directional signs previously approved by UP-65-12 shall be removed <br />prior to the erection of the two signs granted by this approval except the <br />two directional signs at Kottinger and Mirador Drive and Neal Street <br />and Mirador Drive. <br />Sb. East Bav Twewriter Comoanv. <br />The next item on the agenda was the application of East Bay Typewriter Company, <br />Inc., 5262 Crestline Way for a Zoning Permit for a home occupation for a type- <br />writer rental and repair phone service at the above address in an R-i District. <br />Mr. Spink presented the staff report which recommended approval subject to stated <br />conditions. The applicant w,as present in the audience and concurred with the <br />staff report. UPON MOTION OF COMMISSIONER ARNOLD, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />GARRIGAN, AND CARRIED, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ABOVE NAMED APPLICATION BE <br />APPROVED SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br />1. The permit to be granted for a period of one year with yearly extensions <br />subject to a determination by the staff that no adverse conditions exist. <br />2. Business vehicles parked or stored at the site shall be limited to one <br />vehicle no larger than a station wagon. <br />3. No storage or repair of equipment shall take place at the site except that <br />storage possible within the allowed business vehicle. <br />4. No alterations of any kind of the residential structure are allowed. <br />5. No sign is permitted. <br />5c. Z-67-45. Warren Annis. <br />The next item on the agenda was the application of idarren M. Annis, 163 W. Neal <br />Street, for a Zoning Pexmit for a free-standing business identification sign <br />to be located at 125 id. Neal Street in a C-C District. Mr. Spink presented <br />the staff report which recommended approval with stated conditions. UPON <br />MOTION OF COQMfiSSIONER GARRIGAN, SECONDED BY CHAIRMAN ANTONINI, AND CARRIED, IT <br />WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ABOVE-NAMED APPLICATION BE APPROVED SUBJECT TO THE FOL?.OF)- <br />ING CONDITIONS: <br />1. Directory sign to be located in the planter area directly in front of the <br />carports as shown on Exhibit "A". <br />8/9/67 <br />
