RESOLUTION N0. 720
WHEREAS, The application of the Pleasanton City Council for
a Conditional Use Permit under Section 11.301 for the
installation of an interim public library facility
in a portable "modulux" building, to be situated in the
far northwest corner of the John Delucchi Memorial
Park in a C-C District, has come before Chia
Commission:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED: that the above named application be approved subject
to the following conditions:
1. That the permit shall be granted for a period of time
not to exceed five years.
2. That should there be a parking problem created
by the increased population, that the City Council
andlor Alameda County reconsider this particular
site or make some effort to provide additional
off-street parking on an adjoining area.
3. That when the interim facility is relocated, that
the County be responsible to restore the site
back to its original condition.
4. That a Site Plan showing the landscape and archi-
tectural design be submitted to the Planning
Commission for final approval.
Sb, Sc, Sd. Stoneson Develo~ent Coraoration~V-_67-47. Z-67-64, 2-67-65.
Chairman Antonini opened the public hearing on the application of Stoneson
Development Corporation, 3150 20th Avenue, San Francisco, for a Variance to
Section 17.703 and 17.705 to allow the construction of two tract signs,
(25 feet by 12 feet) to encroach 40U feet into the required setback of Highway
50, and to allow both signs to exceed the required square footage by 27U
square feet per sign, to be located near the intersection of Highway 50 and
Foothill Road. The zoning permits Z-67-64, application of Stoneson Development
Corporation to construct an on-tract sign, approximately 25~~ by 12' with
a height not exceeding 25 feet, to be located at the northerly boundary of
the Stoneson property known as "Stoneridge"; and Z-67-65, application by
the above for a 2nd on-tract sign to be located at the northerly boundary
of the Stoneson property were considered simultaneously. Loyd Gillette,
representing Stoneson Construction Company, was present and stated their
desire to use as few signs as possible and still have adequate advertise-
ment. He also stated that the Variance seemed necessary as a 30 square foot
sign would be difficult to read at fast speeds and from a distance. It was
moved by Coffisissioner Garrigan, seconded by Commissioner Plato, and carried,
that the public hearing be closed. The Commission expressed concern about
the billboards on Highway 50, after having agreed with the County to support
their beautification program. There was some question as to any additional
wording on the proposed sign. Upon motion of Commissioner Garrigan, seconded
by Commissioner Arnold, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous
vote:
RESOLUTION NO. 721
WHEREAS, the application of Stoneson Development Corp-
oration, 3150 20th Avenue, San Francisco, for
a Variance to Section 17.703 and 17.705 of the
Zoning Ordinance 30°. to allow the construction
of two tract signs, (25 feet by 12 feet) to
encroach 400 feet into the required square
footage by 270 square feet per sign, to be
located near the intersection of Highway 50
and Foothill Road, has come before this
Commission:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED: That the above named application be approved
subject to the following conditions:
10-11-67
