safety reasons. Mr. Struthers stated our liability insurance and the home- <br />owners policy would cover any accidents on this portion of property. UPON <br />MOTION OF COMMISSIONER ARNOLD, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER PLATO, AND CARRIED, <br />IT WAS DETERMINED TO APPROVE THE ABOVE APPLICATION WITA THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br />1, That the Use Permit is granted for the property as described in the appli- <br />cation and any attachments thereto, and as shown on Che plot plan and elevation <br />plans submitted, labeled Exhibit A. <br />2. That the applicant shall provide 14 parking stalls which shall be <br />striped and bumper stopped. <br />3. ThaC landscaping, shall be provided as per list of materials as described <br />on the plot plan labeled Exhibit A. <br />4. That all landscaped areas within the parking lot shall be protected <br />by 4" redwood header. <br />5. That the 16 foot wide easement, extending across Dr. Shanks' property, <br />shall be paved with asphaltic concrete. <br />G. That all curb openings shall be subject to the approval of the Public <br />Works Director. <br />7. ThaC all exterior materials for the main structure shall be as per <br />descriptions noted on the construction plaAS, except roof material. <br />8. That a survey of the subject property be re-submitted. <br />9. New sidewalk, curb, and gutter shall be required for the entire <br />length, subject to the approval of the Public Worlcs Director, and improve- <br />ment plans shall be submitted. <br />10. That applicant shall dedicate to the City the necessary right-of-way <br />on Main Street, to be established by the Public Works Department. <br />11. The gas light has been reviewed and shall remain. <br />12. The roof material shall be John Mansvilie, as presented at the meeting. <br />13. That the standard sidewalk shall be used. <br />Sd. Next to be considered was the request of Mr. Hottei, 7854 Applewood Way, <br />for a definition of parking requirements for residential housing. Mr. Castro <br />explained Chat Mr. Hottel is proposing conversion of the garage to a room, <br />and asked if parking in the driveway could be considered to meet the require- <br />ments of two off-street parking spaces, (Section 6.602). Mr. Castro stated <br />his interpretation of the Ordinance dfd not consider uncovered off-street <br />parking to meet the requirements. Mr. Hottel noted that he had discussed <br />the interpretation of covered off-street parking areas with the City of <br />Livermore and the County. It was noted that the proposed Zoning Ordinance <br />requires a covered carport or garage. Chairman Antonini suggested to Mr. <br />Hottel that he apply for a Zoning Permit and submit plans showing proposed <br />parking spaces, and a determination of parking requirements would be considered <br />at the time the opplication was submitted to Che Planning Commission. It <br />vas decided to ask for an interpretation of the Ordinance from Mr. Struthers. <br />Sc. RZ-67-11, Planning Commission. <br />Chairman Antonini reopened the public hearing on the application of the Plan- <br />ning Commission to consider the adoption of a new Zoning Ordinance, con- <br />tinued from 9/27, LO/10, 11/1, 11/15, and 12/6/67. <br />Section 1.104, page 3. <br />Changed to read as follows: <br />'Phis Ordinance shall apply to all property, except public streets and alleys, <br />owned by private persons, firms, corporations, or organizations; by the <br />United States of America or any of its agencies; by the State of California <br />or any of its agencies or political subdivisions; by any City or County, <br />including the City of Pleasanton or any of its agencies; or by any authority <br />or district organized under the laws of the State of California. This <br />Ordinance shall apply to structures and signs extending into or above <br />streets or alleys, to railroad rights of way, to electric and communications <br />distribution and service wires where prescribed in the district regulations; <br />provided, however, that the routes of proposed electric or gas transmission <br />_2_ 1-17-68 <br />
