Commissioner Plato inquired if anyone wanted to give their viewpoints on any <br />of the items; no one came forward with any comments. Commissioner Carrigan <br />motioned we approve Items 1, 2 and 3, and continue 4 and 5 until August 14 <br />meeting. It was approved and seconded. <br />RESOLUTION N0. 794 <br />WHEREAS, the application of the Planning Commission, City of Pleasanton, <br />for an amendment to the General Plan, said amendment to include <br />the following land use studies, circulation studies, and major <br />approved developments: <br />1. The Willow Weat Development, <br />2. Extension of Foxpoint Road, <br />3. Land use modifications on Santa Rita Road <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, thaC the above application be recommended <br />to the City Council subject to the following modifications, <br />1. that the following developments, road extensions and land <br />use modifications as previously considered and approved by the <br />City of Pleasanton be implemented on the revised General Plan, <br />said amendments are described as follows: <br />a. Val Vista Development - Recognized as residential and <br />commercial development <br />b, Willow Weat properties - as approved by City of Pleasanton <br />c. Foxpointe Road - Extension through Stoneridge Development <br />d. The Regional Center as defined at the interchange of Hopyard <br />and Highway 50 be deleted. <br />e. That the commercial area previously defined at Black Avenue <br />and Hopyard be relocated to Valley Avenue and Hopyard. <br />f. That the apartment complex previously defined on Black and <br />Hopyard and north on Valley Avenue, be defined as approved <br />on the Plan submitted by D 6 V Builders. <br />g. That the Amador Shopping Center be recognized at the inter- <br />section of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road. <br />h. Further, that the following land use as defined in the <br />legal description as Items 4 and 5 shall be reconsidered <br />by the Planning Commission at their regular meeting of <br />August 14, 1968. <br />c. Code Change - Wood ShinAlea <br />Memo from Fire Department to Planning Commission. Mr. Castro explained <br />.:'::the uses of the wood shingles in constriction of homes in the Pleasanton <br />area. The Commission recommended (due to lack of urgency on this matter) <br />that it be continued to the leaner of the two meetings planned for the <br />month of August. (August 14) <br />5. NEW BUSINESS <br />a. RZ-68-5. Grace M. Peters by J. Bras <br />Application of Grace M. Peters, 4653 Third Street for an amendment to <br />Ordinance No. 526 to rezone from R-1 (Single Family) to RM-1500 (multiple <br />family) at 4653 Third Street. Mr. Castro received a communication from <br />Mr. Bras that he wished the Commission to continue this matter until <br />the meeting of August 14, 1968. <br />Mr. Castro read the Department's report, which is as follows: <br />"Aa the Commission will note from the plot plan attached to your report, <br />the property in question is located approximately in the center of the <br />block between Abbie and Angela Streets with frontage on t4hird Street. <br />In reviewing the applicant's request, this Department conducted a survey <br />of the existing uses in the specific area and its surrounding neighbor- <br />hoods. It was learned that the area. is primarily single-family residences <br />with a considerable amount of multiple spot zoning. There is a mixture of <br />well-kept older residences and rather dilapidated residences that will <br />eventually require some redevelopment." Mr. Castro further presented an <br />exhibit describing the existing land use of the immediate area. Further, <br />a small street plan was presented showing the locations where multiple <br />uses already exist. Mr. Castro also read a letter from homeowners in the <br />area who were objecting to the multiple zoning. A specific gentleman <br />who objected was: Mr. Harold Christian at 320 Abbie. Mr. Christian <br />stated that he lives almost directly across the street from the subject <br />application. These homeowners were shown zoning map and multiple zoning <br />areas were pointed out to them to make them aware of the situation on the <br />street where their properties are located. <br />
