DevelOoment of Pfiqritized Facilities <br /> <br /> The consultant will utilize the findings from Tasks 2, 3, and 4 to prepare a list of <br /> programs, services and activities which are appropriate for consideration by the City <br /> of Pleasanton for inclusion in the City's Public Fadlities Master Plan. The consultant <br /> will translate these programs, services, and activities into generic facilities <br /> requirements and will use a number of methodolc~ies in this translation process, <br /> including: <br /> <br /> o In-house expertise with health and human service radiities <br /> <br /> o Specialized consultant services (the consultant has induded a <br /> specialized gerontology consultant on the team). <br /> <br /> o Adaptation of facilities in other communities. <br /> <br /> The prioritized list will be presented to City staff and to the City Council and/or City <br /> Commissioners for review. The process will result in selection of a list of facilities <br /> to be included in the master planning process detailed in Phase IV. <br /> <br /> PHASE iV - PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN <br /> <br />The following work tasks would be conducted to establish an updated Master Plan for <br />parks and recreation facilities in the City. The study would be focused on analysis of <br />needs and opportunities rather than expensive and detailed report and graphic products. <br />We would rely on available information, staff knowledge and the existing parks and <br />recreation facilities planning (such as in the Cenerai Plan) as much as possible, We would <br />rely on the demographics and growth projections supplied by SCS for all nea:ls projections. <br /> <br />1. Fie/d Reconnaissance <br /> <br /> The consultant would participate in an initial field reconnaissance of existing, <br /> proposed and possible future open space, parks and recreation faci|ities and trail <br /> connections. This two day field trip should include City park and recreation staff, <br /> as available. <br /> <br />2. Reyiew Existing Data <br /> <br /> Technical studies, the existing General Plan element, individual park plans, and <br /> demoFaphic data from the City and SGS will be reviewed and evaluated with <br /> respect to recreation service. <br /> <br />3. Pref~arq Ba;¢ MaD for Parks <br /> Based on existing City maps, select an appropriate scale, format and level of <br /> information for the parks base map. Prepare a base map suitable for report <br /> purposes. <br /> <br /> Pap 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
