C. Medium Density Alternative.

This alternative would provide for the Project site
to be developed with primarily medium density residential
developments. Over 900 dwellings would be constructed,
including 536 medium density units, 292 high density units
and 77 low density units.

1. Facts.

As summarized at page 62 of the DEIR, this
alternative is in many respects similar to the proposed
Project; however, there are fewer dwelling units (400 fewer)
with the result that the City's jobs to housing balance would
worsen.

With fewer units, and fewer people, the level of
most impacts will also be reduced. That is, fewer persons
will be affected by airport operations; the buffering of
existing and proposed large lot residences on Trenery Drive
with similar densities would reduce land use conflicts; fewer
residents will generate less traffic and have less demand on
public services.

2. Findinqs.

The City Council finds that the medium density
alternative is infeasible and less desirable than the
Project, and rejects this alternative, for the following
reasons:

a. Mitigation measures incorporated
into the Project, or conditions of approval which will be
imposed upon specific approvals for development of the

18
